White smoke in the Vatican in reference to the election of the new Pope

A white smoke was emitted today, Thursday, from the chimney of the Sistin Church, indicating the election of a new door for the Catholic Church, succeeding the late Pope Francis by the 133 voter Cardinals who have died in a complex since the afternoon of Wednesday.

To know the identity of the new head of the Catholic Church, the official announcement should be awaited from the balcony of the Cathedral of St. Peter before the elected Pope appeared from it. Usually, this is about an hour after the election.

Thousands of crowds in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican rose on Thursday after the escalation of white smoke, announcing the election of a new door, according to AFP correspondents.

After white smoke from the chimney installed on the surface of the Sistina Church of approximately 6.08 pm (16,08 GMT), the bells of St. Peter’s Cathedral were knocked, while the crowds continued to cheer and applaud with enthusiasm.
