Syria: Population movement is continuing and the remnants of war leads to deadly effects

The UN Office stated that uncomplicated ammunition pollution, mines, and anti -explosive devices and other war remnants are still deadly effects across the country. Since December 8, 2024, more than 900 civilians have been reported, including 367 deaths and 542 injuries. Children represent more than a third of these injuries.
Meanwhile, UN deputy spokesman, Farhan, said at the daily press conference that the United Nations and its partners continue to provide aid throughout the country despite the difficult financing environment. This includes supporting displacement sites, creating opportunities to earn a living, restore water supply, and providing food and nutritional assistance.
He pointed out that the humanitarian call between January and June seeks to raise two billion dollars to support 8 million people, but it only reached 10 percent, as only $ 204 million was obtained.
