Al -Sharifi, representing the Bahraini banking sector in the Union of Arab Banks

The Federation of Arab Banks announced the selection of Yasser Al -Sharifi, Chairman of the Bahrain Banks Association, representing the Bahraini banking sector to the union.

Al -Sharifi received a message from Dr. Wissam Fattouh, Secretary -General of the Union of Arab Banks, in which he welcomed Al -Sharifi as a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors in its eighteenth formation and a representative of the Bahraini banking sector, and an active contributor to activating the role of the Federation to enhance the march of joint Arab action, and to put the foundations for his enabled to play his role in serving Arab economies and societies.

In a statement to him on this occasion, Al -Sharifi expressed his happiness at obtaining the confidence of the federation by choosing him as a member of its board of directors, stressing that this choice represents a recognition of the position of the banking and financial sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its important role in strengthening the union’s efforts to achieve Arab banking integration, and also indicated his keenness to transfer the leading Bahraini expertise in the banking field and exchange best practices, and work with colleagues in the board of directors to develop banking policies Arab that keeps pace with global economic variables and supports sustainable development.

Al -Sharifi participated in the 120th regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Arab Banks, during which a chairman and vice -chairman of the board of directors were elected in its eighteenth formation, the election of members of the Board of Directors of the Executive Committee and the election of a chairman and vice -chairman of the committee, the election of members and chairman of the audit committee, the election of the Chairman and members of the Investment Committee to fill in financial resources, the meeting also witnessed the signing of a note for the establishment of the Islamic Banking Committee, and the nomination of two members of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Academy For administrative, financial and banking sciences.

On the relevant level, Al -Sharifi participated in the Arab Banking Conference for the year 2025 in Cairo, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Mr. Hassan Abdullah, entitled “The Partnership between the Public and Private Sectors to finance the economy” in the presence of a group of leaders and prominent figures in the Arab financial sector.

The conference included a ceremony honoring the “Arab Investment and Banking Personality” award, and included a session on “the role of public and private partnerships in financing economic growth”, and a second session entitled “Islamic banking contribution to financing the economy and sustainable development.” The second day of the conference witnessed a session on “innovative financing mechanisms for the public and private sectors”, in addition to a session entitled “The role of multilateral development banks and international financial institutions in financing partnership projects between the public and private sectors”, and a final session that dealt with the “organizational and political framework to activate effective partnerships”.
