المملكة: The fourth ring road in Makkah .. a strategic artery linking the outskirts of the Holy Capital

The road to the Commander of the Faithful Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him (the fourth ring) is one of the vital axes in the Holy Capital through his contribution to enhancing the efficiency of movement, especially during the Hajj season, by linking the entrances to Makkah Al -Mukarramah to the Holy Places and facilitating the movement of the guests of Rahman, and alleviating congestion in the holy capital and achieving traffic flow in the streets.
In addition to facilitating the movement of vehicles for the people of Makkah and the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God, organizing the entry and exiting the holy sites, in addition to controlling the traffic flows heading to the Sacred Mosque, a strategic artery linking the outskirts of the Holy Capital and contributing to the flow of movement.

Traffic flow

The road is characterized by supporting the flow of traffic and mitigating the crowding inside the city, and its total length is (65) km, and it extends from the road to Al -Awali, and from there to Batha Quraish, Al -Akishiya, and Umm Al -Katad, passing through the Al -Hada road, Jeddah Highway, the old Jeddah or Jude, and Umrah road, Al -Madinah Al -Munawwarah Road, with a width of (100) meters.
It consists of four traffic lanes in each direction to the main road, three traffic lanes in each direction of the service road, an intermediate island with a width of (20) meters to accommodate future public transport paths, and a width island of (8) meters to accommodate the entrances and exits between the main road and the services road safely and effectively.

It includes (11) intersections, which are the intersection of the Makkah-Jeddah Highway, the intersection of the old Makkah-Jeddah road, the Taif-Al-Sael intersection, the intersection of Medina Road, the Prince Nayef Road intersection, the intersection of Umm Al-Katad Road, the intersection On (2,222) lighting columns along the road.
It is noteworthy that the Secretariat of the Holy Capital supervised the implementation of this pioneering project, through specialized Saudi cadres of competent and experience in the field of roads and bridges, and the way works to enhance the link between the entrances of Makkah Al -Mukarramah and its peripheral neighborhoods and the service of pilgrims and visitors by providing alternative and smooth roads, in addition to raising the level of traffic safety and infrastructure quality.
