Establishing an Arab reconstruction fund .. and Baghdad contributes $ 40 million

Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shi’a Al -Sudani announced today, Saturday, the establishment of an Arab fund to support the efforts of recovery and reconstruction in the countries affected by crises and conflicts, in a remarkable step towards strengthening the mechanisms of joint Arab action in post -war files.
He said during his speech at the opening session of the 34th Arab Summit held in Baghdad, that Iraq will contribute to $ 20 million for the reconstruction of Gaza, and 20 million dollars for the reconstruction of Lebanon, as part of direct obligations to support the affected societies.
He pointed out that the fund is one of a package that includes 18 initiatives launched by Iraq to stimulate Arab cooperation, including regional security files, support for institutional work, facilitate humanitarian aid, in addition to the call to stop forced displacement in Gaza.
Strategic priority
The Sudanese emphasized that the establishment of the fund is a strategic priority to deal with the consequences of wars, promoting stability, and enabling Arab economies to overcome the effects of conflicts.
This morning, the works and fifty -fourth and fifth Arab summits were launched in the capital, Baghdad, in the presence of Arab leaders and leaders, the general secretaries of the United Nations, the League of Arab States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Gulf Cooperation Council, along with dozens of guests from Arab countries, the European Union, and international organizations.
