Macron calls on foreign financiers to invest in Europe

French President Emmanuel Macron called on foreign funders to invest in stable Europe, including Albania, which is expected to join the European Union in 2027.
Macron confirmed to the economic forum “The Priority of Europe” in Tirana, that the continent is “a stable and reliable place.”

He continued, “Here in Albania, it is clear that you have an entrance to the west of the Balkans … but it is also a pivotal point in the Mediterranean and Europe,” is likely to join the union within two years.

Albania joined the European Union

Albania began talks to join the continental bloc in the year 2022. Its Prime Minister Eddie Rama expected that this will be done in 2027 if things went well.
The population of Albania is about three million, and is the most supportive of the European Union in the Balkans.
But it still faces great challenges to meet the requirements of joining, especially with regard to fighting corruption.
