Sharjah hosts the conference of the members of the World Trade Centers Association in the Middle East

Sharjah, May 18 / WAM / The Emirate of Sharjah hosted the work of the conference members of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) in the Middle East, organized by the Expo Center Sharjah with the participation of leaders and representatives of 18 global trade centers from different countries of the region, with the aim of enhancing strategic cooperation, exchanging experiences and best practices, and discussing ways to employ artificial intelligence and modern technologies to develop trade centers operations, improve their performance and enable them Play an active role in supporting business growth, innovation, and setting up cross -border partnerships.

The conference was held in the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of His Excellency Saif Mohamed Al -Midfa, CEO of the Sharjah Expo Center and a member of the Consultative Council for Conferences and Exhibitions of the World Trade Centers Association and Mohamed Jumaa Al -Mashrakh, Executive Director of the Sharjah Foreign Investment Office (Invest in Sharjah), along with a number of Sharjah Chamber officials and Sharjah.

During the conference, representatives of global trade centers discussed a number of major axes, where the focus was on the mechanism of strengthening international trade, through cooperation and integration of roles between member centers, as well as intensifying work on employing digital transformation in the exhibition sector, and the need to create a joint platform to exchange data and experiences, and to activate integration and cooperation mechanisms between global trade centers in the Middle East to enhance their ability to attract investments and motivate innovation.

His Excellency Saif Mohamed Al -Midfa stressed that the organization of this conference represents a real embodiment of the pioneering position occupied by the emirate on the map of the international exhibition and conference industry, and confirms the keenness of the Sharjah Expo Center to enhance cooperation at the regional and international levels to improve the exhibition industry and improve its performance and sustainable growth and enable it to continue playing its primary role in supporting the various economic sectors, stressing that the conference that brought together a group of leaders of commercial centers In the region formed a strategic platform for exchange of visions and experiences, and to discuss the opportunities for integration and cooperation that would advance the role of global trade centers as engines for economic growth, and incentives for innovation and investment.

Mohamed Gomaa Al -Mashrakh presented a presentation of the promising investment opportunities in the Emirate of Sharjah and the competitive advantages that he provides to foreign investors, in addition to the global level infrastructure that includes specialized free zones and an advanced transportation network linking it to regional and international markets, in addition to the legislative and legal environment in support of investment, which ensures growth and expansion of companies, and facilitate Procedures for launching investment projects.

The conference witnessed discussions on the importance of enhancing cooperation between the members of the World Trade Centers Association in the Middle East, and to benefit from coordination between them to enhance international trade and serve the economic development goals in the region.

During the conference, the participants continued a presentation of a successful case studies of a number of global trade centers in the region, including the Sharjah Expo Center and World Trade Centers in Algeria, Cairo and Riyadh, which gave them the opportunity to see best practices and successful experiences.

The attendees discussed effective strategies to develop the role of world trade centers, stressing the importance of innovation and digital transformation in achieving this goal.

At the end of the conference, the members of the World Trade Centers Association inspected the Sharjah Expo Center, where they were briefed on modern facilities and advanced technologies enjoyed by the center, which make it one of the most prominent destinations in the region to host international events and exhibitions.
