“Sharjah for chess professors” raises the slogan of surprises in the first round

The competitions of the eighth edition of the Sharjah International Championship for Chess Professors organized by the Sharjah Chess Club under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and with the participation of 350 players and players from 60 countries, including 84 players with international titles and high classifications, which are $ 75,000.
The opening was attended by the Chairman of the Sharjah Chess Club, Chairman of the Arab Federation for the game, Sheikh Dr. Khaled bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Vice President of the Emirates Chess Federation, Dr. Saif Salem Lakhribani Al -Nuaimi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Championship, Imran Abdullah Al -Nuaimi and President of the Qatar Chess Federation, Vice President of the Arab Federation for the game Mohammed Al -Mudhadha, General Secretary of the Chess Federation, Hussein Al Shamsi, and a number of sports personalities.
The first round of surprises was not without the control of the adults after 19 players succeeded in winning and scoring the first point, while the draw was present in 44 games, and the first surprise witnessed the tie of the Uzbek Nader Beck Abdul Squars, the first seed of the championship, the world champion of the fast chess in 2022, with the Indian SB Citoram, on the first table, and the Iranian Barham Misszudlo, the world champion for youth and the third ranked with the Indian Aditya Mittal on the third table, while Salem Abdul Rahman, the national team player and Sharjah Chess Club, lost to Chinese Dai Changreen, and the second seed of the Dutchman, Anish Jerry, won the championship in the victory over the Kazakhi Renn Jumbayev at the second table.
The second championship under 2500 points witnessed the victory of 59 players in the first round, while 23 games ended in a draw, while the third championship for the rated between 1900 to 1400 points won 49 games while the draw was in 12 games.
The Vice President of the Emirates Chess Federation, Dr. Saif Salem Lakhribani Al -Nuaimi, expressed his happiness with the start of the tournament in its eighth edition, which began its journey in 2017 with a number of players at the time of 50 players at the time, and the tournament continued to distinguish and attract it to the various players and players of the world, until the number in the current version reached 350 players and players from 60 countries.
He added: “The tournament is open to expectations, with its exciting competitiveness, and Sharjah has been organizing this event with a high -level organizational and professional distinction, and the Emirates Chess Federation is always working for the game to take a high position among all games in the Emirates, and all of this led the tournament to become a global platform for thought, creativity and exciting challenge between the participants.”
He continued: “The presence of the great professors in the various categories of the championship, giving the Emirates players a tremendous opportunity to friction and gain experiences, enhance intellectual awareness and enhance the challenge between the various players, in a way that develops their capabilities to reach the highest coronation platforms in various forums.”
He added: “The tournament also promotes the state by embracing many different nationalities from different continents, and I believe that the great prizes allocated to the tournament have had a great role in attracting many of the top players, which gives the tournament a great momentum.”
