Interactive workshops enrich Islamic arts in Jeddah
Under the slogan “and what is between them”, the workshop provided inspiring artistic experiences, including:
– Paper making workshop from palm fronds that reviewed how natural materials are converted into sustainable paper, used in artistic and environmental design.
– The art workshop with wooden molds in which the participants learn techniques for handling of manual molds and printing on fabrics with accurate motifs.
– The symbolic workshop of the palm tree in Arabic calligraphy merged between manual printing and Arabic calligraphy to highlight the symbolism of the palm in Islamic culture.
– Plant printing workshop that allowed participants to use nature elements to design environmentally friendly artwork.
A fun artistic experience for children
A workshop entitled “Exploration of Arabic Calligraphy … Embassium for Children” was also devoted to children, with the aim of teaching children the basics of Arabic calligraphy in a fun and interactive manner, through drawing and coloring, which enhances their creative skills and establishes their connection to cultural identity.
Through these events, the Daraiyah Biennial Foundation seeks to:
Developing handicrafts, design and printing skills for participants.
– Supporting Saudi craftsmen and enabling them to create local products that compete globally.
Contribute to achieving the goals of “Handicrafts 2025” by encouraging sustainable creative industries.
International platform for Islamic art
The Biennial of Islamic Arts in Jeddah continues until May 25, 2025, as an international platform that highlights the aesthetic and cultural values of Islamic civilization, and provides a mixture of art, education, and societal interaction, in order to enhance the role of Jeddah as a center for contemporary Islamic arts.
