Global dry basins participate in a global alliance to accelerate the sustainability in the maritime sector

Dubai, May 19 / WAM / The global dry basins, for the services of the maritime sector, affiliated with the Dubai World Ports Group “DP and Drd”, today, announced its participation in the founding of the Global Alliance for Green Ships.
The alliance is an international coalition that includes a group of leading global ships companies, and aims to accelerate the sustainable shift in the marine services sector worldwide.
According to a press release issued today, the launch of this new alliance comes as an advanced step towards accelerating the adoption of green technologies, improving environmental performance, and setting unified standards for the environment, society, companies and sustainable investment through the operations carried out by the coalition members worldwide.
“Global Dry Pinks” will contribute to a pivotal role in directing the coalition’s efforts as a founding member, to promote Dubai’s leading position as a global center for sustainable marine services.
The new coalition in its founding membership includes several major companies, including the global dry basins of the UAE, the “Estius Ships Pinks” group from Spain, the German “Braido Dry Dox” company, and the “IMC” group of shipping ponds in Singapore, China and Thailand, where the operations of the coalition members cover strategic marine axes in Europe and the Middle East And Asia.
The establishment of this alliance comes at a pivotal timing in the maritime sector, which faces increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions, in line with the global climate goals.
The coalition aims to provide practical and implemented solutions, through a platform for cooperation, exchange of knowledge and joint development, including hybrid payment techniques, improving ship efficiency, compliance with carbon emissions systems, in addition to digital transformation.

For his part, Imran Emamdar, CEO of Operations at the Dry Pink Company, said that innovation and sustainability have always been the essence of the company’s vision in the fields of ships maintenance and repair, and today this commitment expanded through the partnership in the Global Alliance for Green Ships.

It is noteworthy that the Global Alliance for Green Ships is the third major global initiative supported by the Dubai World Ports Group, after the emissions -free ports, aimed at providing electrical container handling equipment at reasonable and expandable prices, and the “First Movers Coalition” alliance that focuses on unifying the purchasing capabilities of its members with the aim of accelerating investment in solutions free from Emissions.
