The UAE participates in the meeting of the preparatory executive office of the Arab Health Ministers Council in Geneva

Geneva, May 19 / WAM / The UAE participated in the work of the preparatory executive office for the sixty -second regular session of the Arab Health Ministers Council, organized by the Health and Humanitarian Aid Department – Technical Secretariat of the Arab Health Ministers Council – today at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Geneva.

The meeting headed by the Arab Republic of Egypt, and participated in the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the Republic of Iraq, the State of Palestine, and the State of Qatar.

Ambassador, Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary -General, Head of the Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States, said that the meeting discussed a number of important health issues, in the forefront of the health conditions in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem and the occupied Syrian Golan, in light of the unprecedented humanitarian and health crisis in the Gaza Strip, which greatly affected health care services, as well as following up the continued provision of health and humanitarian support to the Palestinian people in Gaza, as well as the conditions Health and humanity in the United Republic of the United Nate.

She added that the meeting also dealt with the medical and hospital tourism files in the Arab region, and to follow the activities of the Arab Blood Transportation Authority, the Arab Drug Agency “Waad”, the recommendations of the Arab Health Committee for preparedness and emergency response, in addition to discussing the Arab guiding strategy to enhance the use of the health economics approach to challenge the basic health priorities for the period (2025-2030), the Arab efforts to combat drugs, and the proposal of the visiting doctor’s system The training exchange of health cadres between the Arab countries, and the health initiative emanating from the announcement of the Bahrain Summit.

She explained that the winners of the Arab Doctor Award for the year 2025 were also approved, and the distinguished work award in the nursing and miles professions for the year 2025, in addition to discussing the formation of the new executive office of the Arab Health Ministers Council, and discussing the financial matters of the Arab Fund for Health Development.

The recommendations of the Executive Office will be submitted to the Arab Health Ministers Council for adoption and appropriate decisions regarding them.
