Unified criteria for medical care in all “Dubai Health” facilities

The Executive Director of “Dubai Health”, Director of Mohammed Bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Amer Sharif, confirmed that what the health sector in the Emirate of Dubai has witnessed tangible development in many performance indicators, thanks to the sound vision and support from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God bless him, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense The executive of the Emirate of Dubai, noting that “Dubai Health” is steadily moving towards building an integrated healthy model that keeps pace with Dubai’s future aspirations, and elevates human health, in a way that contributes to achieving the goals of Dubai Social Agency 33, which aims to build a more efficient and sustainable health system.

This came during a media meeting organized by the media office of the Dubai government at its headquarters, as part of a series of meetings “session with an official”, in the presence of the Vice President Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, Director General of the Media Office of the Dubai Government, Mona Ghanem Al -Murri, and a group of local media leaders and heads of Emirati newspapers.

Dr. Amer Sharif reviewed the strategic vision of “Dubai Health”, and the programs designed to achieve the health priorities of the emirate, and pointed out that “Dubai Health” has adopted a unified model for medical care standards in all its facilities, in a way that ensures that patients have a equal level of services, regardless of the site of its provision, and he explained that this model contributes to enhancing patient safety, and reducing the time of obtaining service, as well as raising the efficiency of care management Clinical, within the framework of the application of an integrated system, is based on the best international practices.

Dr. Amer Sharif stressed that “Dubai Health” has succeeded in establishing its position as the head of the health care development in the emirate, through the launch of qualitative projects, characterized by an international forward -looking vision and standards, as it worked to develop five advanced research centers, three of which entered into operation, including: “Protein Engineering Center”, “Innovation and Technology Center”, and “Microbial Science Center”, along with a side “Applied and Transitional Genome Center”, and “Space and Aviation Health Center”, within the framework of supporting scientific research efforts, and consolidating a form of evidence -based health care.

Its strategic projects also include the establishment of “Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital”, whose design, with the participation of patients, won the Golden Award for the category of “future health care projects” from World Architecture News, where the “Amina” experience, one of the cancer survivors, contributed to an influential role in the design of the hospital, which will help to create a more human and supportive treatment environment for patients, in addition to that she works “Dubai Health” on the establishment of a new headquarters for the Diabetes Center.

The meeting dealt with the “Dubai Health” efforts in employing artificial intelligence and advanced technology in line with the Dubai AI strategy in the health sector 2025-2028, and these efforts aim to use artificial intelligence, to support health care workers, which allows them to focus more on providing care, scientific research, and these efforts include developing advanced medical visions, providing directed learning according to individual needs, and promoting research Medical, supporting giving efforts and collecting donations, and 37 priority initiatives were launched to achieve specific strategic goals within five main areas, including: improving patient experience, facilitating access to care, enhancing the accuracy of diagnosis, and providing a treatment for each patient, along with other areas that support the efficiency and quality of health care.

Dr. Amer Sharif reviewed the most prominent academic achievements that contributed to the consolidation of the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, a pioneering center for medical education and scientific research.

He explained that Al -Jalila Foundation, the tender arm of Dubai’s health, collected 177.65 million dirhams, and provided 13 scholarships during the year 2024.

Dr. Amer Sharif touched on the “Dubai Health” efforts to improve patients ’experience, by establishing the“ Health Operations Center ”, and said:“ The center’s role is pivotal in the (re -designing the patient’s journey program) adopted by (Dubai Health) to create integrated treatment paths, where 45 main therapeutic trip was identified within the health system, representing about 68% of the total patient size, and includes emergency flights, specialized care, and preventive examinations. ”

He stated that “Dubai Health” recorded a remarkable growth in a number of performance indicators during the year 2024, as the number of requests for delivery of medicines to homes increased to about 109 thousand demands in 2024, compared to 37 thousand and 724 in 2022, recording a growth of 189%.

He said: «The number of beneficiaries of the patient transport service, which is concerned with providing a means of transportation dedicated to transporting patients from their homes to hospitals and health centers for their medical dates and receiving treatment, and then returning them after the end of the treatment service, 5365 patients in 2024, compared to 862 patients in 2023.

He added: «The medical teams carried out 90,816 visits during three years, recording a growth rate of 68%, as it increased from 23 thousand and 277 visits in 2022, to reach 39 thousand and 114 visits in 2024.

And he added: “(Dubai Health) has succeeded in providing a medical service for 256 thousand and 350 patients during three years, recording a growth of 17.7%, as the number of consultations provided in 2024 reached about 92 thousand and 930 consultations, compared to 78 thousand and 969 consultations in 2022.”
