Because of the floods … urgent warnings of millions of population in eastern Australia
The Meteorological Authority said, “The expected amounts of rain during the next few days may be equivalent to what usually falls within a whole month, with more than 100 mm of rain since Sunday evening, especially in Sydney and the central coast of the state.”
She warned that the peak of rainy precipitation may reach 300 mm today, amid warnings of sudden floods and potential soil slippage.
Throwing trees and power outages
Emergency services announced that it had received more than 250 reports of damages that included uprooting trees and water leaks in residential buildings.
While wind winds, which reached 100 km per hour, led to the power outage from more than 2,200 people, in addition to closing several main roads.
The authorities called on the population to avoid unnecessary movement, and to be very careful on roads and beaches, as weather conditions were classified as dangerous.
