The UAE participates in the Energy Ministers’ meeting of the Braxel Group in Brazil

The state participated in the meeting of the energy ministers of the countries of the “Brix” group, which was held in the Brazilian capital, Brazilia, headed by Brazil, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation between member states in supporting the transformation of the energy sector, its sustainability and security.
The state’s delegation was chaired by Eng. Sharif Al -Alami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, and said in his speech to representatives of member states and partners in the “BRICS” group: “We live in a milestone in the global transformation of the energy sector, where the world faces two main challenges; It represents an opportunity to lead the transformation through innovation, cooperation, and decisive action.
He added that the UAE has made energy saving a national achievement, as 100% was achieved in access to electricity, clean cooking solutions, heating and well -cost heating and cooling services, and the state also leads global indicators in accessing energy and cost.
He continued: “In recognition that these achievements are not completed except by achieving them worldwide, we invest in renewable energy projects in more than 70 countries, especially in Africa, the Caribbean region, and the small islands developing.
The countries and partners called “BRICS” to join the “Global Energy Energy Energy Alliance” launched by the UAE with the aim of achieving a radical improvement in energy efficiency in various sectors, including transportation buildings, industry, and working to double energy efficiency rates annually by 2030, in line with the historical “Emirates Agreement” that was announced during the COP28 Conference, and the coalition also aims to enhance the exchange of knowledge and support for capacity The joint, as his Excellency stressed that the “BRICS” countries are able to play a pivotal role in accelerating the efforts to save energy globally and enhance the process of reducing emissions collectively.
He also stressed that the UAE, thanks to the directives of its rational leadership, is keen to enhance cooperation with the countries of the “BRICS” group and open new horizons for developing partnerships in the fields of energy, energy efficiency, and emissions techniques, in a way that contributes to advancing economic growth and enhancing the exchange of experiences and knowledge, and consolidating the state’s position as a world leading destination in this field, in line with the targets of “Vision of the Emirates 2031”.
He pointed out that the UAE is linked to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries through the Electrical Commission for the Gulf States, which enhances the stability of the network and energy security at the regional level, and the state continues to work on bilateral and multilateral partnerships to deepen regional and international integration in the energy sector.
The meeting also witnessed the presentation of the Brazilian presidency, the report of the research cooperation platform in the field of energy for the “Brix” countries, which focused on ensuring access to affordable, reliable and modern energy, especially for disadvantaged societies, in addition to reviewing the road map in the field of energy for the period 2025-2030, which provides a strategic vision to enhance cooperation in the areas of clean energy, sustainable fuel, networking, and innovation.
