Muhammad al -Sharqi meets Pope Tawadros II and stresses the importance of spreading the values of tolerance among religions

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, met at the Papuya headquarters in the St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbasiya in Cairo, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah stressed the importance of spreading the values of religious tolerance and human coexistence among the peoples of the world, and the role of religious institutions in promoting the concepts of brotherhood among all divine religions.
His Highness also referred to the Document of Humanitarian Brotherhood in the UAE 2019, which was signed by the Honorable Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al -Tayeb, Sheikh of Al -Azhar and His Holiness the late Pope Francis, the Pope of the Catholic Church, to be a model for the dialogue of religions, meanings of peace, coexistence and human brotherhood.
His Holiness Pope Tawadros gave a glimpse into the history of the Coptic Orthodox Church, which was founded in the first century by St. Mark, one of the messengers of Christ, and the city of Alexandria became the first city in Africa to accept Christian faith.
His Holiness Pope Tawadros II explained that “the Coptic Church is a national church that serves the homeland, but it does not work in politics, but rather directs its work and giving towards the whole society and provides it with various services, the most prominent of which is education through the establishment of schools, with the aim of implanting and caring for the values of goodness, peace and love,” noting that the Church builds its relations with everyone on the principle of love.
His Highness visited the headquarters of the Petrus Church, and the St. Mark’s Cathedral, and listened to an explanation of its history, its most important components and the events it witnessed.
His Highness was accompanied by Muhammad Ahmad Al -Yamahi, President of the Arab Parliament, Dr. Ahmed Hamdan Al -Zyoudi, Director of the Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Al -Fajra, and Hamdan Karam, Director of the Special Office of His Highness the Crown Prince of Fujairah.
The meeting was also attended by His Eminence, St. Julius, the general bishop of ancient Egypt and the bishops of services, and the supervisor of the Churches of the Gulf states, the shirts Mina Hanna, the undersecretary of the Gulf churches, the monk, the priest, Emmanuel Al -Muharraqi, Director of the Office of His Holiness the Pope, and the bars Musa Ibrahim, a spokesman for the Coptic Orthodox Church, and Mrs. Barbara Suleiman, Director of the Pontifical Office for Projects and Relations.
