Collaborate "Abu Dhabi Health" and"Economic Cooperation Organization" To enhance health care in the emirate

Abu Dhabi, May 23/ WAM/ The Health Department – Abu Dhabi has signed a new strategic agreement with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, to enhance the distinction of organizational frameworks for health care in the emirate in a move based on fruitful cooperation between the two parties since 2019.
The agreement includes conducting a comprehensive study aimed at assessing and supporting the efforts of the Health Department – Abu Dhabi in developing the organizational frameworks of the health sector, in a manner that ensures the integration of international best practices, improving transparency and promoting accountability, in addition to ensuring the continuity of providing high quality health care for future generations.
His Excellency Dr. Noura Khamis Al -Ghaithi, Undersecretary of the Health Department – Abu Dhabi, said that the development of modern health systems depends on advanced organizational frameworks based on international evidence and standards, and by consolidating these practices, we enhance the efficiency and quality of the organizational environment, which contributes to improving health results for patients and facilitating the tasks of care providers.
She added that the partnership with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is an important station in the department’s journey towards consolidating a safe, transparent health system, in line with its ambitions to provide health care at international levels.
The partnership agreement comes as the beginning of the second stage of the project that was launched in 2019, which witnessed in its first stage great efforts to evaluate and improve policy framework, build institutional capabilities, and enhance organizational effectiveness by making evidence -based decisions.
The recommendations of the first stage contributed to improving the ability to predict, enhance resource allocation, and raise organizational performance in general.
The partnership agreement in the second stage will include reviewing the progress made in governance procedures since 2019, in addition to providing technical support to manage the costs of organizational compliance, and developing a solid framework that reflects the needs of society and future requirements.
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development will also conduct a comprehensive analysis of the organizational performance of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, compared to indicators of performance and global governance through an integrated framework to assess organizational governance practices based on scientific evidence that includes the evaluation of the organizational impact, the involvement of the parties concerned, and the subsequent assessments of implementation.
The second phase will start with the visit of the delegation of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to Abu Dhabi, to assess the mechanisms of reviewing the current regulations and policies in the health care sector, followed by providing recommendations to improve organizational performance.
