"Ikrum Sharjah" The second stage of the training course is launched on preserving heritage buildings

Sharjah, May 25 / WAM / The activities of the second phase of the advanced online training course organized by the International Center for the Study of Cultural Property Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Property – Ikrum and its regional center in Sharjah under the title “Structural Conservation of the Building Heritage”.
This session is in particular to the construction and architectural restorers in the Arab region, where its activities will continue until June 4 with the participation of 300 trainees from 27 countries from the Arab region and the world, highlighting the regional and global commitment to preserve our architectural heritage.
This stage aims to support specialists in the fields of construction conservation of heritage structures and buildings, their theories and advanced techniques and enrich their practical skills in order to preserve material heritage. It also meets the topics and experiences included in this course. Cultural and urban planners, each of these professionals plays an important role in protecting our historical sites and ensuring their continuation of future generations.
Participants in the course learn about the necessary techniques and methodologies necessary to preserve the historical value of heritage buildings, enhance their structural safety, mastering construction and modeling accounts in the contexts of preservation and imminent of practical skills to design and implement specific structural interventions and review a number of practical experiences and realistic state studies, providing precious visions of how to apply ideas and theoretical information in a practical and effective way.
Engineer Anwar, a former official of technical consulting projects and training programs at the Ikrum Regional Center in Sharjah, said that this course provides more than just an educational opportunity, as it is an objective response to the urgent need to enhance practical skills in order to preserve the heritage built in the Arab region, as well as the course combines technical skills and practical applications using case studies to create a comprehensive educational experience for specialists in the field of preservation.
He pointed out that this type of specialized training has a special value in the Arab region, where many historical buildings and heritage sites face real threats as a result of natural disasters, human encroachments and neglect, which requires urgent structural intervention and the experience gained from this training will be useful in protecting these unjustified assets.
It is noteworthy that this training course is part of the training and capacity training program at the Ikrum Regional Center in Sharjah, which aims to provide professionals with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to preserve and manage cultural heritage sites.
The program includes two components, the first is the research academic rehabilitation through the Master of the Department of Cultural Heritage Preservation in cooperation with Sharjah University and the second is the practical professional qualification of skills through seasonal training courses that cover various aspects of techniques and topics of preserving cultural heritage, including technologies, materials and management strategies, ensuring that the participants can apply what they learned effectively in the scenarios of the real world.
