Abu Dhabi, May 26 / WAM / In the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dhiab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Presidency for Development Affairs and Families of Martyrs, Chairman of the Emirates Balanced Development Council, the Emirates Council for Development in partnership with the Ministry of Culture announced the launch of a package of cultural and creative initiatives and programs to support and empower creators and craftsmen and promote cultural tourism in different regions and villages in the country, on the sidelines of the fourth edition of “Make in the Emirates”, which recently concluded in Abu Dhabi.
The package of initiatives and programs includes the support of 20 projects within the national program for granting culture and creativity, training and qualifying 26 ambassadors for culture and creativity, developing the market of creators and craftsmen, and the completion and availability of virtual cultural experiences, in addition to preparing and designing “a guide to exploring Emirati culture” to enhance the experience of tourists coming to the country at airports and various border ports.
His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al -Kaabi, Secretary -General of the Emirates Balanced Development Council, stressed that the Emirates Council for Development, headed by His Highness Sheikh Dhiab bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; It seeks to expand the scope of cooperation and partnership with various institutions and entities, including federal and local institutions, the private sector and public benefit institutions in the country, in order to accelerate the achievement of strategic targets, enhance the quality of life in all regions of the country, and build a sustainable development model that provides more investment and development opportunities that are reflected in the consolidation of societal stability, and the continuation of providing a decent life for the inhabitants of those villages.
His Excellency explained that the Emirates Balanced Development Council in a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Culture will support a set of programs and initiatives in the fields of culture and creativity, and cultural tourism, and includes the national program for granting culture and creativity, and includes 20 cultural creative projects, and the initiative of the creators and craftsmen, which is a unique umbrella that accommodates the products of Emirati creators and craftsmen, and constitutes a space to display and market them, and a guide “Explore the Emirati culture”, which targets tourists coming to the country, through various border airports and outlets, which are initiatives with cultural and creative returns supporting owners of projects and talents in the areas of culture and creativity, and the time period for its implementation reaches 12 months.
His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al -Kaabi pointed out that initiatives and programs include the completion and availability of virtual cultural experiences that benefit a large sector of society, especially talent and interest in the areas of culture and creativity, and the initiative of ambassadors of culture and creativity, which will provide society with 26 distinguished talents in the various fields of culture and creativity on the knowledge of the ingredients of national identity, and the main role represented by the local cultural heritage in its characteristics through promoting Their capabilities and support of their talents, in a specified time frame in six months, provided that the completion of all programs and initiatives according to the indicators and targets annually, to determine the need for the development of any of them based on the outputs and completed results, noting that the Emirates Council for Development is seeking to comprehensively support it to develop all villages and targeted areas through the diversification and comprehensiveness of the areas targeted by initiatives and programs Different in an integrated manner in the various sectors of the economy, business, small and medium enterprises, infrastructure, tourism, community development, gender balance, etc., within the vision of the council that aims to enhance comprehensive and sustainable development in the villages of the Emirates.
In turn, His Excellency Mubarak Al -Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, touched on the importance of the strategic partnership between the Emirates Council for Balanced Development and the Ministry of Culture, which will contribute to enriching many economic, societal, cultural and other sectors to achieve the targets during the coming period,
His Excellency stressed the importance of strengthening solidarity between the various institutions of society from governmental and private agencies, especially what is related to the cultural, societal, economic and tourism dimensions on the one hand, and promoting national identity and promoting cultural heritage on the other hand, pointing out his happiness at the same time to the national priority in establishing historical and cultural values ​​of the authentic Emirati heritage, and supporting innovation and creativity in the areas of the material cultural heritage of the state in a way that enhances National cohesion and community solidarity in a sustainable manner.
It is worth noting that the UAE villages project aims to enhance the quality of life in all regions of the country, and to build a sustainable development model that provides more investment and development opportunities that are reflected in the consolidation of societal stability, and the continued provision of a decent life for the residents of those villages, and is based on multiple development paths that depend on the development of sustainable projects, coordination and beauty of villages, and awareness of the historical and archaeological dimension of them, as a form Essential in the history of the UAE, in addition to supporting small and medium enterprises to create a miniature economy in the villages, and highlighting the most important ingredients and landmarks contained in the villages, which enhances its position on the map of domestic tourism in the country, and contributes to achieving desired social development.
