We succeeded in achieving the goal… and Majidi describes the loss as “unfair.”

Al-Nasr coach, Serbian Slavisa Jokanovic, admitted that his team faced great difficulties in coming out with a victory against Al-Bataeh, 3-2, in the confrontation that took place between them, yesterday evening, for the ninth round of the ADNOC Professional League.

Jokanovic said in press statements: “Indeed, we found difficulties in the second half despite the advantage we had throughout the 45 minutes. Al-Bataeh was able to score two goals against us and almost came out with a draw, but in the end we succeeded in getting the goal for which we entered the match, and victory will give us a morale boost for the upcoming matches, but the most important thing is that we work hard to correct the mistakes, if we want to be among the greats.”

For his part, Al-Bataeh coach, Farhad Majidi, confirmed that his team played a good match despite the numerical deficiency in which it played the confrontation for long periods.

He said: “We were able to come back on two occasions, and we were close to a draw. I think the result is not fair, but our players deserve to be saluted for their efforts.”

Al-Nasr had managed to achieve a very difficult victory at the expense of Al-Bataeh, who had played with 10 players since the 33rd minute, after the goalkeeper, Ibrahim Issa, was sent off after he obstructed Al-Nasr’s Iranian player, Mehdi Qaidi, outside the penalty area.

Al-Nasr took advantage of its numerical superiority before the end of the first half, when Mehdi Qaidi succeeded in breaking the offside trap and was alone with the substitute goalkeeper, scoring the visitors’ lead goal.

Al-Bataeh returned to the atmosphere of the match, taking advantage of a fatal mistake by Al-Nasr goalkeeper, Abdullah Al-Tamimi, so that Anatoly was able to score the equalizer “72”.

Al-Nasr responded quickly through the brilliant Mehdi Qaidi with a distinctive individual shot, shooting a ball that landed in a difficult place for goalkeeper “73”.

Anatoly returned to shine again, scoring the equalizer with a close-range shot on goal “77”.

At a time when the match was heading for a draw, substitute Chickena Doumbia was able to exploit a defensive lapse and give Al-Nassr the lead (90). With this result, Al-Nassr raised its score to 14 points, moving up to sixth place, while Al-Bataeh remained in 12th place with six points.
