"Culture" It launches competitions for children and adolescents

Abu Dhabi, May 28 / WAM / The Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, announced the launch of cultural competitions in the cultural centers affiliated with the Ministry, in the context of celebrations of the Emirati child’s day, which is held throughout the current year under the slogan “The right to national identity and culture”, with the aim of enhancing the cultural identity of children, and encouraging them to interact with literary and cognitive events.

The competitions that take place this year on “Emirati national identity and culture” target children and young citizens in the age group from 8 to 12 years, and the competitions include competition in poetry (eloquent and Nabati) and the short story.

His Excellency Mubarak Al -Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, stressed that the launch of cultural competitions comes within the framework of the ministry’s strategy that aims to enable talents in various ages and enhance the cultural movement in the UAE by organizing a group of cultural events and knowledge activities that target a wide audience.

He said that cultural competitions contribute to stimulating creativity and innovation between members of society, enhancing the Emirati and Arab cultural identity, and encouraging intellectual and knowledge dialogue, as well as the role of culture as a basic engine for social and economic development, in line with the vision of the UAE in building a coherent knowledge society.

He added that these initiatives reflect the state’s commitment to enhancing cultural diversity and supporting the intellectual movement, as we seek to enable individuals to contribute to drawing a prosperous cultural future, and providing a stimulating environment that allows everyone to express their creativity.

For its part, His Excellency Al -Reem Bint Abdullah Al -Falasi, Secretary -General of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, stressed that these competitions come within the framework of celebrations of the Emirati child’s day, which started at the state level on March 15 and continues throughout the year under the slogan “The right to national identity and culture”, through which the council and all partners seek to work to educate children and adolescents from the Emirates of the importance of pride in their national identity and keenness to know its elements, in view of For its primary role in shaping their personalities, building their awareness, developing their ability to interact with their surroundings, and enhancing their sense of belonging to their homeland.

She pointed out that the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood and the Ministry of Culture agreed to cooperate to promote and promote the Emirati national identity among members of society, especially the children’s category in early childhood, and to perpetuate the original Emirati values ​​system, and positive features between them, and in a way that supports capacity building in the field of motherhood and childhood, and contributes to enhancing the quality of life in Emirati society.

She added that the competitions are strengthened by the children of the Emirates, children and adolescents, the love of the Arabic language and belonging to the national culture and its poetic heritage in its eloquent and Nabati quality and its narratives, as it is basic pillars of the consolidation of the national identity, and the affirmation of cultural identity and pride in the Emirati heritage, which is what the Council and the Ministry were keen to take care of it and focus on it in the various activities included in the competitions.

The launch of cultural competitions is within a comprehensive cultural program implemented by the Ministry of Culture with the aim of promoting national identity, and supporting intellectual creativity in different age groups, through knowledge and interactive activities that are consistent with the state’s vision in empowering creators, and consolidating culture as a basic tributary in comprehensive development.

The program also includes qualitative initiatives, discussion sessions, and workshops that enrich the cultural scene, and enhance institutional partnerships to support future projects and initiatives.
