High indicators of happiness and quality of life in Abu Dhabi

The Emirate of Abu Dhabi has strengthened its position as one of the best cities in the world in the quality of life, safety, and happiness, according to the results of the fifth session of the quality of the quality of life launched by the Community Development Department – Abu Dhabi for the year 2024.
The results showed that 93.6% of the Abu Dhabi population feel safe when walking at night, which reflects its classification as the safest city in the year 2025 according to international indicators, and the emirate recorded an increase in levels of happiness, as the happiness index reached 7.74 out of 10, compared to 7.63 in the third session.
More than 100,000 people from 190 different nationalities participated in the questionnaire, covering 14 major indicators of aspects and social affairs, which are housing, job opportunities and revenues, family income and wealth, a balance between life and work, health, education and skills, personal security and safety, social relations, environmental quality, social services, digital life quality, happiness and luxury. In addition to a decrease adopting cooperation between the department and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, namely societal cohesion and social participation, which serves the knowledge and measurement of society’s cohesion and interaction in Abu Dhabi.
The results of the questionnaire also indicated that 75.6% of the population has a strong social support network, which reflects the importance of societal cohesion within the “year of society” .. while the rate of population participation in volunteer work reached 34.3%, which reflects the strong societal spirit.
On the other hand, the community development circle urged members of society to participate in the sixth session of the quality of the quality of life, and to express their aspirations and the challenges facing them in various aspects of life.
For its part, the Executive Director of the Monitoring and Social Innovation Sector in the department, Eng. Sheikha Al -Hosani, stressed that these results reflect the strategic efforts of the emirate in promoting the quality of life, as the questionnaire of the quality of life shows Abu Dhabi’s continuous commitment to developing innovative policies that put the quality of the life of individuals in the forefront of priorities, and that the concerted efforts between various sectors contribute to achieving a safe and sustainable environment, where the population feels stability And prosperity.
Her Excellency added that the higher security rate in Abu Dhabi, the high rates of happiness, and the increase in the average expectation, are all indications of the success of government policies and plans to enhance social, health and economic development.
She said: We continue in the year of society to draw policies and develop initiatives and programs that are concerned with promoting the quality of the life of community members, and achieving the aspirations and aspirations of them, as we recently witnessed the opening of the community of “the pulse of the farmer”, which is a realistic embodiment of converting “the voice of society” into a tangible reality, and we work through all partners to make an integrated platform that provides activities, programs and events that target all segments of society.
As Abu Dhabi continues to enhance the digital transformation system, the questionnaire revealed the high levels of digital luxury, as the population has access to digital services easily and high efficiency. However, the results showed increasing concerns about the psychological effects of technology, indicating the need for balanced policies that support mental health and social interaction in the digital age.
As for the balance between life and work, the results showed that the number of working hours is still high compared to the average OECD, which enhances the need for strategies that support the balance between professional and personal life to ensure the sustainability of the quality of community life.
The Community Development Department depends on the results of the quality of life quality as a basic tool for developing social and economic policies, and ensuring a balanced and sustainable societal environment.
