The UAE provides 45.5 % of the total oil imports of Japan in April

Tokyo on May 30 / WAM / Japanese official data showed that the United Arab Emirates topped the list of oil exporting countries to Japan during the month of April 2025, where Tokyo’s imports of UAE crude reached 34 million barrels.

This quantity accounted for 45.5% of the total oil imports of Japan for that month, according to the numbers issued by the Natural Resources and Energy Agency of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Japanese Industry.

In general, Japan imported a total of 74.77 million barrels of crude oil in April, and the Arab countries dominated the largest share of these imports, as Arab oil constituted 94.1%, equivalent to 70.40 million barrels, from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, and Sudan.

In the second place after the UAE, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which supplied Japan with 27.10 million barrels, was 36.3%of the total Japanese imports, and Qatar contributed 5.25 million barrels (by 7%), followed by Kuwait with a amount of 2.79 million barrels (by 3.7%), while the contribution of the Sultanate of Oman (1.2%) and Sudan (0.4%).

What is the remaining percentage of Japan’s oil imports in April, it came from other sources that included the United States of America (3.9%), Ecuador (1.4%), Brunei in Southeast Asia (0.2%), and Oceania countries (0.1%).
