"Federal Nuclear Regulation" Praises the efforts of the response teams in "Barakah"

Abu Dhabi, June 18 / WAM / His Excellency Hamad Al Kaabi, Director General of the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation, during his visit to the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, was briefed on the developments in the activities of the regulatory authority and followed up on the operational status of the station.

His Excellency was also briefed on the latest developments in the operation of the four units at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, including planned refueling activities and maintenance work. The visit reflects the Authority’s continued commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the station through its supervisory work.

His Excellency Al Kaabi met with the teams that participated in responding to the recent accident at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, praising their efforts in dealing with the event, which contributed to maintaining the safety and security of the facility and protecting workers, the public and the environment.

His Excellency praised the high level of coordination, readiness and professionalism demonstrated by the teams during the response, stressing that this reflects the strength and flexibility of the regulatory and operational framework in the UAE. He also reiterated the importance of protecting nuclear facilities in all circumstances in accordance with international standards and best practices.

During the visit, His Excellency also met with the Authority’s team of inspectors, stressing the Authority’s commitment to effectively carrying out its oversight tasks at the station. He thanked them for their dedication and continuous efforts in monitoring to ensure the safety and security of the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant.
