Sheikh Mohammed bin Khaled Cultural Center and the Social Society organizes a symposium on youth and identity issues

Al -Ain on June 1/ WAM/ The Sheikh Mohammed bin Khaled Al Nahyan Cultural Center and “Society of Socialists” in Sharjah organized a lecture entitled “Young and Cultural identity in a changing world .. a bridge between originality and the future” under the directives of Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khaled Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions.

The lecture hosted by “Sheikh Mohammed bin Khaled Al Nahyan’s cultural and educational institutions comes within the framework of supporting the state’s vision for the community and targeted highlighting the role of youth in preserving the cultural identity and positive interaction with global changes.

The lecture was given by Dr. Souad Al -Araimi, Professor at the Faculty of Humanities, Head of the Department of Government and Society at the Emirates University and researcher in the field of national identity and a member of the Social Association, while he was moderated by Dr. Muhammad bin Jerash Al -Suwaidi, member of the Board of Directors of the Social Association and Chairman of the Cultural Committee.

The lecture highlighted the importance of empowering young people to be active in reformulating the cultural identity with contemporary methods that take into account the spirit of the times without prejudice to the authentic values ​​and references and witnessed a remarkable presence of academics, researchers and youth, along with prominent personalities, including Maryam Hamad Al Shamsi, Secretary -General of Sheikh Mohammed bin Khaled Al Nahyan’s cultural and educational institutions, Dr. Salah Al Mazrouei, Vice -Chairman of the Board of Directors Socialists.

The symposium dealt with the most prominent challenges facing young people in terms of preserving their cultural identity in light of the waves of globalization and digital development, as well as mechanisms to enhance cultural awareness through education, media and community initiatives.

Dr. Souad Al -Araimi emphasized that the cultural identity is not just a frequent past, but rather a driving energy for creativity and innovation, calling for providing a stimulating environment that allows young people to express their identity with confidence and effectively engage in forming the features of the future.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad bin Jerash Al -Suwaidi stressed that the cultural dialogue between generations and the empowerment of young people from its leadership is the basis for building a firm and renewed society.
