The announcement of the winners of the Sultan bin Ali Al -Owais Cultural Prize in its 19th session

Dubai on June 1/ WAM/ The Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation announced the names of the winners of the Al-Owais Cultural Award at its nineteenth session (2023-2024), which included four creative and intellectual fields.
He won the Iraqi poet’s poetry award, while the Iraqi novelist Inaam Keja won the story, novel and theater award.
Moroccan critic Hamid Lahdani won the Literary and Critical Studies Award, while the Award for Humanitarian and Future Studies went to the Tunisian thinker and historian Dr. Abdel Jalil Al -Tamimi.
Abdel Hamid Ahmed, Secretary -General of the Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation, said that the choice of the winners came as a result of in -depth deliberations of the jury, which saw in their works a high knowledge and creative value that contributed to enriching the Arab culture and enhancing its presence.
He explained that the experience of the poet Hamid Saeed is distinguished by its artistic cohesion and its connection with the Arab and humanitarian heritage, while Inaam’s novels expressed the issues of identity, exile and nostalgia, and presented strong and realistic women figures, and was distinguished by an accomplishment of Hamdani critical with his originality, methodology and his ability to combine Arab and Western criticism, while Al -Tamimi’s works reflected the depth of historical research and the diversity of its areas of interest, especially in Arab history And “Moriscos”.
The number of applicants for the award in this course reached 1940 candidates, while the number of winners since the launch of the award reached 105 winners.
In conjunction with the Foundation’s celebration of the centenary of the poet Sultan Al -Owais (1925-2025), which was approved by UNESCO, the Board of Trustees announced the value of the prize to 150 thousand dollars for each field.
The Secretary -General indicated that the Cultural and Scientific Achievement Award will be announced later, as it is granted by a decision of the Board of Trustees.
