The conclusion of the historic Dalma Festival amid a wide praise of visitors

Al -Dhafra on June 1 / WAM / Today, the activities of the eighth session of the Dalma Historical Race Festival, which started on May 16, were concluded today, providing an innovative heritage and knowledge platform for all members of society.

The festival visitors from the island’s residents emphasized that the event has become an upcoming annual date, because of its heritage, cultural and sports activities that contribute to enhancing the national identity and stimulating the local economy, as well as providing an entertainment and interactive environment that enrichs society and brings its members in an atmosphere of joy and interaction.

They expressed their thanks and gratitude for the wise leadership for its continuous support for heritage events, and for the relevant follow -up from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, and his generous care for the festival, which was organized in cooperation between the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

Mohamed Al -Fandi, Muhair Al Mazrouei, pointed out that the festival achieved the goals of the “Year of Society”, as it instilled in the hearts of new generations the authentic Emirati values, and strengthened the national identity through various heritage activities, and also contributed to strengthening social ties between members of society through societal and voluntary activities.

Mohamed Obaid Al -Muhairi highlighted the positive economic impact of the festival, stressing that he revived the commercial and tourism movement on the island, and opened the way for families producing their products in the popular market, which helped support the local economy and promote sustainable development.

Youssef Al -Ali praised the role of the festival in reviving the UAE heritage, by organizing specialized marine workshops, sailing standing races and heritage blasphemy, which contributed to the definition of young people to the arts of sailing and the transfer of this authentic heritage to future generations.

Ahmed Mohamed Al -Suwaidi emphasized that the festival was a vital outlet for the residents of the island and its visitors, with its heritage activities, popular games and children’s competitions, along with artistic performances and the heritage market, which created an atmosphere of interaction and joy, and strengthened societal cohesion.

In turn, Muhammad Ali Khalil Al -Hosani pointed out the importance of involving children in the events, explaining that the competitions and popular games helped in defining young people with the habits of grandparents, and instilled in them the spirit of cooperation and teamwork, and linking them to their heritage and identity in an interactive and educational manner.

Hussein Khamis Jassim Al -Hosani also mentioned the participation of the national authorities in the festival, appreciating the cognitive value that it added through its awareness wings, and the daily lectures held on the stage and affected the visitors with awareness information.

Hassan Salem Abdul Latif Al Hammadi appreciated the efforts made in introducing visitors to the heritage of the Emirati islands, especially the island of Dalma, by visiting the Dalma Museum, “Beit Al -Muraikhi” and live activities that highlighted the marine and manual crafts and the history of pearls.
