The Education, Human Development and Society Council adopts the criteria for the study of citizens for higher education outside the state

The Council of Education, Human Development and Society has adopted the criteria for studying higher education students for the citizens of the Emirates outside the country, where the criteria aim to raise the efficiency and readiness of students to enter the labor market, and organize external scholarship options in line with the aspirations of the state and its national plans, targeted sectors and future developments, and in support of achieving optimal investment in Emirati competencies.
This comes within the framework of the strategic directions for the development of the human education and human development system in the country, and to the elevation of higher education outcomes with the targets of national development and the needs of the labor market,
Through this step, the Council seeks to enable students to make studied educational decisions based on clear foundations that guarantee the quality of the selected educational programs and institutions, and enhance opportunities to benefit from the qualifications they receive in their future professional paths inside and outside the country.
These criteria were derived from a clear vision to develop the experience of higher education outside the country, by directing students towards specialized and highly efficient academic specializations and institutions.
Students who wish to enroll in one of the institutions of higher education outside the country, whether at their own expense or at the expense of one of the scholarships, must adhere to the study in higher education institutions according to the classifications approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research according to the following criteria; It is to be among the 50 best universities in the specialization to be studied (regardless of the general classification or country of study) and according to international classifications approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, or to be among the 100 best universities in the specialization to be studied and to be among the best 100 universities in the general classification according to the international classifications approved by the Ministry in the case of study in either of America or Australia, or to be among the best 200 universities in the specialization to be studied and be among the best 200 universities in the general classification according to international classifications It is approved by the Ministry in the case of studying in any of the English scholarship countries except America and Australia, and that it be among the best 300 universities in the specialization to be studied and to be among the best 300 universities in the general classification according to the international classifications approved by the ministry in the event of study in any of the English -speaking countries.
The Council noted the necessity of adhering to the standards specified to avoid refusing to recognize the qualifications that students receive outside the state and to acclaim them for the purposes of appointment or promotion or obtaining devotional vacations to study, or examination vacations, discussing research messages or the advantages of qualification in the federal government sector in the state.
To ensure the provision of a transparent and fair methodology that guarantees observance of special cases, especially for students who are currently pursuing their studies abroad, students will be granted Emirati citizens who complete their studies outside the country now, whether at their own account or at the expense of the scholarship for a period of one year from the date of the date of this decision to reconcile their conditions.
A specialized committee has also been formed headed by the General Secretariat of the Education and Human Development Council to consider the exception requests to ensure its studies according to accurate criteria that take into account the nature of the specialization, the educational institution and the individual conditions for each case to support the student’s interest and enhance his educational and professional opportunities, and the Council also directed directly to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to inquire about the details related to the approved criteria and the mechanism for submitting exception requests.
This mechanism is part of a set of policies and initiatives that the Education and Human Development Council works with with the relevant authorities, aimed at upgrading the quality of higher education, enhancing the system of recognition of certificates, and supporting Emirati students, whether inside or outside the country. These efforts contribute to enabling national competencies, developing human resources, and building generations who have skills, energies and knowledge that keep pace with the aspirations of the state and reflect its future visions.
