"Expo Sharjah" Celebrate"World Exhibition Day"

Sharjah on June 4 / WAM / The Expo Sharjah Center celebrated the International Exhibition Day, which falls on June 4 of each year, under the slogan “Exhibitions unleash the capabilities”.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Expo Center, Sharjah, and His Excellency Saif Mohamed Al -Midfa, CEO of the Expo Center, Sharjah, along with a number of officials and employees of the center.
The ceremony included a visual presentation that reviewed the center’s march since its foundation in 1977 as the first exhibition center in the region, and its development to a modern headquarters in 2002 that extends over an area of 128 thousand square meters, organizes more than 80 activities annually, attracting about 3 million visitors and 7 thousand companies and trademarks from 60 countries.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais stressed that the exhibition industry contributes to achieving the targets of comprehensive development in Sharjah, pointing to its positive impact on sectors such as tourism, which recorded 11% growth in 2024, while receiving the emirate for 1.6 million hotel guests.
He pointed to the success of the agenda of the Expo Center for Sharjah in stimulating the various economic sectors and attracting qualitative investments, which contributes to enhancing the economic development process witnessed in the Emirate of Sharjah.
For his part, His Excellency Saif Mohamed Al -Midfa pointed to the continuous growth in the activities of the center, as it attracted 3 million visitors in 2024, and the percentage of new model companies in the first half of 2025 reached about 20%, which enhances its global position as an attractive destination for international exhibitors from all over the world.
He pointed to the importance of the exhibition sector and its role in strengthening the economy, as the global spending related to exhibitions in 2024 exceeded 398.2 billion dollars, including 162.3 billion dollars, as direct spending, and the sector supported $ 233.1 billion of Global Global GDP according to the International Exhibition Industry Federation report.
The first half of 2025 witnessed prominent activities such as “Steel Fab” and “Iker 2025”, which achieved deals exceeding 4.3 billion dirhams, in addition to exhibitions such as “Emirates Jewels”, “Ramadan Nights” and “Haif Furniture”.
The “Middle East Watch and Jewelery” exhibition also recorded more than 87 thousand visitors and 500 exhibitors from different countries of the world.
The Expo Khorfakkan and Al -Zaid Center witnessed various activities, which included artistic and agricultural exhibitions and festivals, which enhance the center’s role in supporting food security and agricultural innovation.
On the international level, the center signed 12 cooperation agreements during 2024, and the conference of the members of the World Trade Centers Association in the Middle East hosted with the participation of representatives of 18 centers.
The center is preparing for a rich agenda in the second half of 2025, which includes new exhibitions such as “cosmetics”, “the transfer of the future” and “Derry Tech”, in addition to specialized exhibitions such as “Oud and Perfumes”, “International Book”, “paint”, and others.
At the end of the ceremony, a number of distinguished employees were honored.
