"Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center" A book is published"Aleppo: Heritage and civilization"

Abu Dhabi, June 10/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, as part of the “Kalima” project, issued the book “Aleppo: Heritage and Civilization” by French thinker and researcher Jean -Claude David, who was transferred to Arabic Dr. Hala Ahmed Aslan, and reviewed by Kazem Jihad.
The book deals with the city of Aleppo as one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, as the author provides an in -depth reading in its origins and development within its geographical and civilizational fabric.
David raises questions about whether the city still maintains vivid evidence in its Byzantine, Roman, hallways, Aramaic, Al -Hitti and Akkadi history, or that the remainder of the remaining walls and silent artifacts are only pronounced with what remains of its history.
The book deals with the dialectic of memory and identity in the Aleppo context, and proposes a multi -dimensional reading of the city and highlights the specificity of the Aleppo society to show how this city manifests itself with its rich heritage and its literal skills that were formed away from the prevailing patterns of globalization.
The author shows a critical awareness of his Orientalist background, and seeks, through objective reading, to overcome this stereotype and fairness and heritage of the city of Aleppo, away from the ready rulings.
The author Jean -Claude David is one of the most prominent specialists in urban geography and cultural heritage of historical cities, and his passion for the city of Aleppo began from the doctoral thesis in which he dealt with “urban landscapes in Aleppo”, to work later as a trainee and expert in its municipality, and participates in preparing its urban plan and protecting its old city.
