100 billion dirhams annual revenues for the Franchise sector in the Emirates

Abu Dhabi, June 11 / WAM / The Franchise Sector (the commercial concession) in the UAE is rapidly growing, with its annual revenues exceeding 100 billion dirhams, with an annual growth rate of 15%.

This comes within a global expansion movement witnessed by the sector, as its revenues globally reach more than 6 trillion dirhams, while the total value of the Franchise market in the Middle East and North Africa region is more than 120 billion dirhams.

The sector includes more than two million commercial concession companies around the world, providing more than 19 million jobs, which reflects its vital role in supporting the economy and enhancing entrepreneurship.

In this context, the Emirates Association of Franchise, affiliated to the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized the “Franchise Gathering and Innovation Forum leading us”, to celebrate the International Day of Franchise, at the Chamber’s headquarters, in cooperation with the Khalifa Fund for Project Development and the Abu Dhabi Business Women Council, and with the participation of a group of entrepreneurs and decision makers and representatives of government and private agencies concerned with the concession sector Commercial.

The organization of the forum comes within the framework of the association’s efforts to enhance awareness of the importance of the Franchise sector, its pivotal role in supporting the national economy, and empowering entrepreneurs through a successful and sustainable investment model that contributes to the expansion of local and regional brands.

On this occasion, His Excellency Nour Al -Tamimi, President of the Emirates Association of Frances, said that the celebration of the World Franchise Day came as an affirmation of the position that this sector enjoys in the Emirati economy system, especially in light of the national efforts aimed at diversifying sources of income and enhancing the culture of entrepreneurship.

Al -Tamimi emphasized that Franchise represents a practical tool for business development through a model that enables entrepreneurs to work within an integrated operational system, allowing them to benefit from knowledge, training and institutional support.

She pointed out that the Emirates Association of Frances is moving forward in implementing its national strategy aimed at enabling Emirati brands to expand locally and globally, noting the mother of the re -launch of the institution’s institutional identity formed an important turning point in its career, especially after obtaining the official recognition of the World Council of Frances, to be the accredited representative of the UAE in this international forum. Al -Tamimi noted that the association aspires to be a strategic partner in building an integrated system for Franchise in the UAE, so that it is based on supportive legislation, facilitated financing, specialized training, and international representation, stressing their commitment to continue working with its partners in the Abu Dhabi Chamber, the Khalifa Fund, the Businesswomen Council, and all the national bodies concerned, to expand the impact of Franchise To reach every ambitious work pioneer in the Emirates.

For his part, Simon Bartholomeo, Secretary -General of the World Council of Franchise, said that the World Franchise Day is working to enhance the level of awareness of the importance of commercial concession role in the formation of our modern economies, and urge all Franchise links around the world, and the bodies related to the commercial concession sector, including franchise grants, concession owners, suppliers, and partners, to participate in the activities of the International Day For Frances to highlight the flexibility that the sector provides to entrepreneurs and its support for a sustainable future vision of economic activity, which contributes to adopting more entrepreneurs of this promising commercial model.

The forum witnessed the organization of a dialogue session entitled “Meeting of Minds”, which brought together a group of commercial concessions in the country, and specialists and experts who discussed the most prominent opportunities and challenges related to the expansion of local privileges, and the mechanisms of their legal, operational and financing support, in order to enhance their ability to compete and sustainable growth.

The program also included an interactive visual presentation that highlighted the association’s achievements, and reviewed successful models of Emirati brands that managed to expand through the commercial concession inside and outside the country, and focused on the efforts made by the association in supporting the building of an integrated system for Franchise in the Emirates based on innovation, efficiency, and sustainability of growth.

The event also included a number of accompanying activities, most notably the “Franchise Walk”, which reviewed a group of national and international brands, as well as direct consulting sessions organized by the association in cooperation with a number of expertise houses, with the aim of providing specialized professional guidance on the legal, organizational and operational aspects of the commercial concession model.

The Association called on startups and local brands to benefit from the advantages of the association’s membership, which includes guidance, training, institutional representation and entering new markets through local and international partnerships.
