Dubai Municipality has completed the implementation of the project to develop the sewage and rainwater drainage network in the third Nad Al -Sheba area, at a cost of 277 million dirhams, which covers an area of ​​340 hectares with a number of lands of up to 300 plots of land, as part of its comprehensive strategic plans to develop the sewage system in the emirate, and enhance its operational efficiency and improve its flexibility to absorb the population and urban growth, to establish Dubai’s position as a pioneering city In the readiness of its infrastructure for the future.

The project contributes to enhancing the city’s flexibility to confront environmental challenges, as it supports Dubai’s tendencies in the shift towards the smart and sustainable cities model, in line with the goals of national agendas and the vision of good leadership to make Dubai the best globally in the quality of its infrastructure and public services.

The project also translates the vision of Dubai Municipality and its commitment to support comprehensive development plans and enhance the quality of life in the areas of citizens’ residence, by adopting innovative solutions that guarantee the efficiency of operation and the continuity of services in various climatic conditions.

Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said that the project is part of our efforts and strategic plans to develop and implement advanced and smart infrastructure projects that keep pace with Dubai aspirations towards leadership and urban sustainability, indicating that the completion of this project is a new step towards linking all regions of the Emirate of Dubai to the sewage system and rainwater drainage, in order to enhance the readiness and readiness of the emirate for future climate variables for the hundred years Next, which revolves around two strategic programs among the largest in the region; The “Drainage” project to develop the rainwater drainage network in the emirate of 30 billion dirhams, and the project to develop the sewage system in the emirate with a value of 80 billion dirhams.

He added that the Dubai Municipality continues its efforts and plans at an accelerated pace to implement comprehensive development work for wastewater collection networks and rainwater drainage, according to the highest international standards, and by using advanced technologies and smart solutions that raise performance efficiency, while ensuring the continuity of services, in a way that reflects positively on the quality of life in the emirate, and establishes its position among the best cities in the internationally advanced infrastructure index.

In detail, the Dubai Municipality provided Nad Al -Sheba region (3) with an advanced sewage network of about 24 km, while the web lines diameter ranges between 200 – 800 mm, as it will contribute to improving the services provided to citizens and residents of the region, and maintaining a clean and sustainable environment, in addition to facilitating future maintenance operations, in addition to a new network of home conducts that depend on Natural decline with a length of about 11 km, linking the homes of citizens, new housing and real estate with the main sewage network of the Municipality of Dubai.

As for the rainwater drainage network, the Dubai Municipality added an advanced pumping station with a capacity of 4,000 liters per second, which will support the efficiency of the rainwater drainage network in the region and accelerate the flow of water towards the main network of the municipality. Dubai Municipality also provided the region with a network of lines based on a 31 -km natural decline, and with countries ranging between 250 and 1,500 mm, to ensure the flow of rain water and enhance the readiness of the network during the periods of heavy rains.
