Activating the Dubai Student Council next academic year and an active presence for the Emiratis

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai revealed the details of the launch of the “Dubai Student Council”, which is activated next academic year 2025-2026, as part of the “Tomorrow Leaders” initiative in the education strategy in the emirate 2033.
A pivotal step
The Empire stated that the council is a pivotal step towards strengthening the voice of Dubai students, and ensuring that their views are an essential axis in developing educational policies within the special education system in Dubai, in addition to strengthening a more comprehensive, flexible and innovative educational environment, in line with the needs and aspirations of society.
In explaining the details of the council, she explained that it includes 15 male and female students, including Emirati students, for the next academic year 2025-2026, from the ninth grade to the twelfth grade, or its equivalent in the various educational curricula applied in Dubai, and the council will reflect the diversity that is a distinctive feature of the special education system in the emirate, which guarantees a real representation of the student community that reflects their interests and the diversity of their backgrounds Cultural.

Al -Mazmi added: “We look forward to receiving the nomination requests and choosing representatives of our students, including Emirati students, for the next academic year 2025-2026, because of our belief in the importance of their ideas and opinions, and that their voice is capable of contributing to achieving common goals, and exploring opportunities that enrich teaching and learning experiences in the journey of every educated in Dubai.”

The authority explained that the council provides a vital platform for students of students to communicate directly with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, and joint cooperation to enhance mutual understanding, and work as a link between the student community and the authority on current challenges and explore opportunities in the special education scene in Dubai, and to address common priority issues, in order to support the authority’s vision to enhance active student participation and educational excellence.
Conditions and standards
Each private school in the emirate may nominate one student to represent its students, according to specific conditions, the most prominent of which is: to have good behavior, to show strong leadership capabilities, and have effective skills in communication and teamwork, in addition to being an effective participant in school or societal activities, as well as obtaining the approval of each of the guardian and the school to nominate.
She said: “The council members will be chosen according to a systematic mechanism before the start of the 2025-2026 academic year, and the membership will be for one academic year, with the possibility of re -submission for a second period as a maximum, based on the student’s performance and his fulfillment of the conditions and standards of the initiative.”
