Under the patronage of the team, His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Drug Control Council, the activities of the “Drug Prevention Forum” will be launched in the capital, “Under the slogan” A conscious family … a safe community “, which is organized by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the Council of Drugs and the General Command of Abu Dhabi Police, and will continue until June 29, in Galleria Mall on the island of Al -Maria in Abu Dhabi from 10 am until 10 am.

This forum comes within the framework of the integrated strategy implemented by the Ministry of Interior to combat drugs, which is based on prevention and awareness as a first defense line, by involving all groups of society in preventive efforts, enabling them to contribute active in protecting young people and enhancing positive values, as well as an interactive educational platform aimed at highlighting the health, psychological and social risks of drugs, creating awareness Societal supporting the paths of treatment, rehabilitation and social integration.

The forum targets wide societal groups that include young adults and youth from the age of 15 to 25 years, and parents, in addition to specialists in the areas of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, workers in government agencies and educational institutions, community leaders and influencing personalities from social media pioneers.

The drug prevention forum is based on four basic axes: happiness, which highlights the importance of mental health and the promotion of family bonding, and the good companionship, which emphasizes the role of good companionship in building awareness, affiliation and cohesive family, which is the first line of defense in protecting children, in addition to the axis of the healthy body, which shows the harmful physical, mental and psychological effects of drug use.

The forum includes a series of interactive events and innovative programs, most notably the Council of Drug Prevention, the Council of Future Leaders, Psychological and Social Consultation Sessions, discussion sessions, prevention podcasts, in addition to prevention through artificial intelligence and virtual experiences, as well as electronic shooting, police dog shows, and many interactive competitions.

Brigadier Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Deputy Director General of Federal Narcotics Control at the Ministry of Interior, stressed that the forum represents an extension of the strategy of the Ministry of Interior and its strategic partners in addressing the risks of the drug scourge with a comprehensive perspective that integrates awareness, fighting and care, indicating that the event focuses on building a preventive family culture, raising public awareness of using innovative interactive methods, instilling the values ​​of belonging and identity Patriotism, enhancing the benefit of local and international experiences and expertise in the field of drug prevention.

He said that the drug prevention forum constitutes an interactive societal platform aimed at enhancing public awareness of the dangers of narcotic substances, and highlighting its negative effects on the individual and society, as it embodies the commitment of the concerned authorities in the country, with an integrated pre -emptive approach that focuses on prevention and rehabilitation, and enhances the safe environment that protects our youth and our families from this dangerous scourge.

He added that the forum represents a real opportunity to enhance families’ awareness of their responsibilities, highlight their role as the first source of protection, by enabling it to know the knowledge and skills necessary to early detecting dangerous indicators, positive intervention in the appropriate time, and providing an incubator and safe environment for children.

It is expected that during its ten days more than 8000 visitors, which reflects the confidence of society in its message, and the growing awareness of the importance of prevention as a basic pillar in the drug control system.
