Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed is witnessing the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Abu Dhabi Marine Academy

Abu Dhabi, June 19/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, witnessed today the graduation ceremony of the first batch of the Abu Dhabi Naval Academy held at the Abu Dhabi Center, Abu Dhabi, to celebrate the graduation of 194 graduates.
His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the graduates and their families on this occasion, wishing this constellation of graduates of the academy the success of success in their professional and scientific lives, which contributes to supporting the maritime transport sector and logistical services in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates.
His Highness affirmed the importance of the pivotal role played by the Abu Dhabi Marine Academy in preparing and qualifying national cadres and competencies from marine specialists and logistical services engineers, in a way that contributes to providing the maritime transport sector and logistical services with qualified human resources capable of advancing sustainable growth in this vital field, and enhancing its competitiveness regionally and globally, as one of the main pillars of the national economic development march Comprehensive.
On this occasion, His Excellency Muhammad Hassan Al -Suwaidi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, said: “We are proud of the graduation of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the first batch of the Abu Dhabi Naval Academy, which represents an important step that will contribute to strengthening the march of the development of the maritime sector in the United Arab Emirates and in order to achieve the visions of our wise leadership. For his part, Dr. Yasser Al -Wahdi, President of the Abu Dhabi Marine Academy, said that the graduation ceremony today represents an important moment in the march of the Abu Dhabi Naval Academy, which is vibrant in providing the maritime sector in the United Arab Emirates with trained and qualified cadres to advance this main sector into new prospects and levels, describing the academy as a unique educational facility of its kind at the level of the UAE. And its services to become a major engine for the prosperous labor market in the maritime sector.
Al -Wahidi congratulated the graduates of the first batch of the academy on their commitment and dedication to their academic paths, wishing them success in their career and success in the global maritime sector, which is witnessing a growth in the demand for qualified cadres.
It is noteworthy that the Abu Dhabi Marine Academy, which is affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, was established in 2019, and began receiving students in 2021 and is offered an integrated set of marine education and training programs, including eight basic programs, and the number of students currently studying is 410, Emirati citizens form about 85%.
The Academy offers diplomas in 13 maritime and logistical specialties, including ship leasing and oil tankers, marine engineering technology, shipping and maritime operations, supply and ports administration, in addition to the programs of senior officers, simulation devices, and marine shipping department and provide technical training for maritime transport and shipping sectors, as well as approved programs in the fields of financial and accounting training.
It is worth noting that during less than four years since the first batch joined the academy, its activities developed to become a major contributor in the education, maritime training, research and development sector in the Gulf region, during which it implemented 150 training and development programs, and provided more than 446 thousand training hours for about 4,220 trainees, as well as organizing field training on the ships around the world that benefited more than 100 students.
The Academy includes the “Simulation Center”, which provides more than 400 training models using six integrated functional and tasks.
In the consulting field, the academy experts participated in 43 industrial projects, and seven patents were recorded at the Patent Office and Trademarks in the United States of America, and launched the “Marine Sustainability Research Center” under the umbrella of the “Maritime Center – Abu Dhabi”, to support the maritime sector and enhance the partnership between the public and private sectors in this vital field.
