Hazza bin Zayed witnesses part of the activities of the first edition of "Al Ain Heritage Festival"

Al Ain, February 6, WAM / His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region, witnessed part of the activities of the first edition of the “Al Ain Heritage Festival”, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, until February 9 at the ADNEC Al Ain Centre, under the slogan “Stories from Our Heritage”.
His Highness was briefed on the most prominent pavilions and events included in the festival, which embody the nobility and diversity of the Emirati heritage, and reflect the status of the Al Ain region as a cultural incubator for preserving Emirati traditions and promoting the values of national identity.
During his tour, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the Dates Festival, which contributes to highlighting the historical and cultural status of palm trees, as the festival includes a market displaying the most prominent types of dates, in addition to organizing 8 specialized competitions for the varieties of Al Ain Elite, Al Khalas, Al Shishi, Al Zamili, Bu Maan, Al Dabbas, Al Fard, and Al Wahat Elite.
His Highness also inspected the festival’s activities, which include the honey village, traditional crafts, folk arts performances, Emirati cooking, and interactive and educational programs for children and families.
His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of organizing heritage and cultural events that embody a national approach that enhances the presence of heritage in the cultural scene, dedicates its role in protecting societal identity, and ensures its presence in the daily life of society as it is an integral part of the components of national identity.
The “Al Ain Heritage Festival” is a cultural and heritage platform that celebrates the authentic Emirati heritage through a diverse program of events and activities. The outdoor performance arena hosts live heritage performances, including falconry and Arabian Saluki shows, in addition to popular cooking activities that showcase Emirati, Gulf and Arab cuisine through live cooking shows, in addition to folk arts performances and traditional artistic, poetry and theatrical evenings.
During the visit, His Highness was accompanied by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority; And a number of officials.
