Abu Dhabi, June 20 / WAM / The Trends Center for Research and Consulting, through its virtual office in China, organized a symposium entitled “The Prospects of Chinese-East Middle East in light of the global transformations”, in the center of the center at the Beijing International Book Fair 2025 held at the China National Convention Center.
Participants in the symposium, which was moderated by Farida Bay Yi Nan, head of the Arabic Language Department in China today, discussed the role of the “Belt and Road” initiative in promoting Arab-Chinese economic integration, opportunities and areas of cultural and educational cooperation between China and Arab countries, as well as China’s position on the main Middle East issues, and how Chinese intellectual elites view the partnership with Gulf and Arab countries.
Ho Joys, a researcher specialized at the Center for Arab Studies at the University of Chigiang for International Studies, stressed that cultural cooperation is an important link in the relations between China and the Arab countries, noting that there are more than 48 universities in China teaching the Arabic language, while the enthusiasm of the Arab countries to learn the Chinese language, as the UAE and Saudi Arabia has introduced the Chinese language to the national education system, while there are currently more than 20 branches of the Confucius Institute in the Middle East.
For his part, Abdulaziz Al -Shehhi, the main researcher and deputy head of the scientific research sector at the Trends Center for Research and Consulting, said that past years have witnessed a remarkable development in bilateral relations between China and the Arab countries, pointing to the Emirati model in this field; The country is the first commercial partner of China in the Middle East and North Africa region, and the most advanced in the field of cultural cooperation, as it announced investments of up to 10 billion dollars in joint cultural and educational projects with China during the next ten years.
Yang Yu Shen, a researcher at the Center for African Studies at the University of Chigyg for teachers, explained that the UAE and China are always trying to play a positive role in bringing peace and defusing regional and global conflicts, especially the circle in the Middle East, which is an important and pivotal region for the whole world.
He pointed out that China is the first commercial partner of the UAE, which is the largest Chinese export market and a major investment destination for China in the Middle East, as well as being the main destination for Chinese tourists in the region, with more than a million tourists last year, in addition to the presence of more than 100 Chinese schools in the Emirates.
