Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled .. A national platform for the manufacture of heroes

Dubai, June 21 / WAM / Khorfakkan Club embodies the disabled one of the leading models in the UAE in the field of supporting and empowering people of determination mathematically and socially, as since its inception it has been a real nucleus for the champions industry and achieved achievements in various Paralympic games at the local and international levels.

The club’s start dates back to April 2005, when His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, issued a decision to publicize the Khor Fakkan Club for the disabled, after it was a branch affiliated with Al -Thiqa Club for the Disabled since 1997, and in January 2006, the club obtained the legal and administrative and financial independence, after officially publicity with the General Authority for Youth Welfare and Sports.

Since its foundation, the club applies a clear strategy that aims to completely integrate the people of determination in society through sports, while providing an integrated environment for rehabilitation and training, which made it the main center for the sport of people of determination in the eastern region, as it supervises the sports work for the categories of motor, audio, visual and mental disabilities.

The club achieved a series of striking achievements, most notably the participation of its players in regional and international championships within the ranks of national teams, and achieving medals and achievements in Paralympic sports.

The club includes advanced sporting facilities, which include athletics training halls, strengths, table tennis, and basketball on wheelchairs, as well as physiotherapy and rehabilitation facilities, and a special training track, which enhances the readiness of the players and sustainability of performance.

The club allows the exercise of more than 6 approved sports within the International Federation of Sports of People of Determination, in addition to community sports programs that enhance fitness and mental health for the participants.

In its future plans, the club is based on expanding the base of participation, developing technical and administrative cadres, enhancing partnerships with educational and medical institutions, and supporting innovation initiatives in the field of qualifying people of determination, in line with the state’s vision in enabling this group and enhancing its role in development.

Abdullah Saleh Al -Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Club, confirmed to the disabled, that the club has a generous and continuous support from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, which prepared an ideal environment for the advancement of the sport of people of determination in the emirate, in light of the follow -up and interest from the Sharjah Sports Council.

He explained that the board of directors seeks to upgrade the club to the ranks of major clubs globally through comprehensive strategies, based on local excellence and international friction, based on the firm belief that refining the player begins from the field, and is reflected in his self -confidence and integration into society.

For his part, Walid Jamoul, the coach of athletics and strengths of the club, pointed out that the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled continues to distinguish it in various games, as it recently achieved the National Paralympic Committee Cup in raising strength, along with several other titles, explaining that this success is the product of a collective work system in the spirit of one team, and with direct support from the club management.

He said that the club is currently continuing to prepare the team to participate in upcoming international championships within the qualifying track towards the Paralympic Games, taking care to involve the largest number of players and players.

In turn, the national team players, Khorfakkan, Saif Al -Zaabi and Moza Al -Zyoudi, expressed their appreciation for the support they have, stressing that they are seeking to achieve the qualifying numbers that lead them to the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics.

They confirmed that the club provided them with an ideal training environment, from modern facilities and advanced devices that are compatible with international standards, as well as a specialized medical and technical staff, and continuous preparation camps, expressing their aspiration to achieve achievements that raise the name of the Emirates high in international forums.
