Abu Dhabi on July 22/ WAM/ His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, witnessed the activities of celebrating the eleventh World Yoga Day, which was held within the framework of “Abu Dhabi Sports Summer” at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), with a joint organization from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and ADNEC Group, and in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of India to the state under the slogan of this year: Yes, one land and a comprehensive health. ”

The event collected more than a thousand participants of various nationalities and cultures, in a scene that reflects the spirit of openness and coexistence that distinguishes the UAE community.
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan expressed in his speech during the event, his happiness to participate in this annual event, praising the role that yoga plays in promoting the balance between reason and body, and stressed the depth of ties that bring together the UAE and the Republic of India.

His Excellency said: “I am pleased to be with you today to celebrate the International Day of Yoga, which embodies our continuous commitment to this ancient practice that stems from the Indian wisdom, and finds its echo among the peoples of the world loving good and peace.

His Excellency added: “Today in the UAE, we celebrate the values ​​of sympathy, dialogue, peace and mutual respect, which are the same values ​​that are strengthened by yoga, which in turn contributes to building coherent societies that are aware of the individual’s role in his relationship with society and the environment.”

His Excellency pointed to the importance of the slogan of this year, “Yoga for one land and a comprehensive health”, stressing that the welfare of man cannot be separated from the health of our planet, and he said: “We learned the yoga how to listen to ourselves and to each other, and to the world around us.”

His Excellency praised the pioneering role of the UAE in promoting the well -being of man, and said: “Our commitment to the health and happiness of everyone who lives on this good land stems from the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and continues today under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him who leads the UAE towards a safe, prosperous and open society, which is based on health and happiness. His Excellency added that it is not a coincidence that this celebration will enjoy the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and that students and families participate in it, as this reflects our deep belief that caring for minds and bodies from an early age makes strong and comfortable societies.

He praised the participation of students and said: “Our students – the leaders of the future – are learning today lessons that exceed the limits of the classroom that focus on belonging, participation and positive impact in society and the world.”
