The first comment from the Syrian President on the bombing of Mar Elias Church

On Monday, Syrian President Ahmed Al -Sharaa pledged that those involved in the suicide attack inside the St. Elias Church in Damascus will receive their “fair penalty”, calling on the Syrians to “solidarity and unity” in the face of everything that threatens the stability of the country.

“We pledge to the beacons that we will reach the day during the day, converging all of our competent security services, to arrest everyone who participated and plans for this heinous crime, and to bring them to the judiciary to obtain their fair penalty.”

He considered that “the heinous crime … reminiscent of the importance of solidarity and unity, the government and people, in the face of everything that threatens our security and the stability of our homeland.”
