Conducting the first Droning Part Laying experience in Abu Dhabi

The company, “Lod”, which specializes in advanced aviation technology and the development of drones, in cooperation with “7X”, the Holding Investment Group operating in trade, transportation, logistics and ownership of EMX logistical transportation company, conducted the first experimental flight to connect fast parcels using drones in Abu Dhabi, which constitutes a qualitative shift in the future of the logistical services sector in the UAE.
This experimental journey, which falls within the strategy of the Smart Systems Council, and enjoys support from the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, aims to develop and adopt smart and integrated movement solutions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The experiment was carried out under the supervision of the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Integrated Transport Center, and was held under the umbrella of the SAVI and SAVI compound (SAVI), within the framework of efforts aimed at supporting the strategic vision of the Emirate The future of the sector, in line with efforts to establish Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global center for innovation and future technologies.
This experimental journey shows the level of progress achieved by the emirate in adopting smart and sustainable solutions, and emphasizes the success of strategic partnerships in advancing innovation, and supporting the development of an advanced economic system and smart and sustainable infrastructure, in a way that enhances the status of the capital Abu Dhabi As a global center for innovation and entrepreneurship in future industries.
The experimental flight was conducted in Khalifa City, where the drone plane, equipped with an automatic crane, transferred an expulsion from a local mail office to a specific delivery point using an advanced navigation system.
For his part, Hamid Saber Al -Hamli, Director of the Air Transport Department at the Integrated Transport Center, said that ensuring the safety and security of the airspace is one of the priorities of the integrated transportation center, which is constantly developing the organizational frameworks needed to support the integration of drones into the transportation system safely and effectively.
He added that this experience is the fruit of close cooperation between the public and private sectors, and a practical step towards the future of smart air movement in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, stressing the keenness to provide a flexible and safe organizational environment that keeps pace with innovation, and contributes to enabling new technological solutions, in a way that enhances the competitiveness of the emirate and establishes its position as a global center for sustainable movement and future technologies.
In turn, Rashid Al -Mannai, CEO of Lod, said that self -driving drones add a new dimension to urban delivery networks; It allows one operator to manage several delivery operations at the same time, which enhances the efficiency of performance and the expansion of the application of these technologies, in addition to the speed of response to the requirements of logistics chains.
For his part, Tariq Al -Wahidi, CEO of 7 X, said that this experience represents a qualitative step towards more intelligent and flexible logistical services and solutions, and reflects a common commitment to employing modern technology to enhance performance efficiency and speed of access.
He added that this initiative comes as a continuation of the development of the current infrastructure of “EMX”; It will contribute to strengthening its wide network and its ability to reach more sites quickly and with higher efficiency, within an advanced step to keep pace with the increasing demand for logistics services.
This experience comes as a preliminary stage within a comprehensive strategic plan that aims to expand the scope of drone based logistics services in the areas of Abu Dhabi, with the aim of enhancing the emirate’s position as a leading global center in the field of smart air transport at the region level.
