Family Minister: We started the comprehensive national evaluation phase of the demographic situation and we are working to develop a national strategy for the growth of the Emirati family

Abu Dhabi, June 25/ WAM/ His Excellency Sanaa Bint Muhammad Suhail, Minister of Family, participated in the work of the twelfth session of the Federal National Council held today, where her Excellency discussed the issue of “government policy regarding enhancing reproductive rates in the country.”
Its Excellency stressed during the session the importance of the issue and its priority within the agenda, initiatives and directions of the ministry, valuing it was presented in the Federal National Council as a file that reflects national awareness, because of its strategic dimensions that affect the sustainability of society, the balance of the demographics, the growth of the national economy, and the preservation of the national identity of the UAE.
Her Excellency indicated that the first phase of the comprehensive national evaluation of the demographic situation has already started, within an analytical framework based on accurate data, reference comparisons, and an in -depth reading of social and economic factors affecting the reproductive rates in evidence, where the Ministry of Family seeks during the current stage to develop a national strategy for family growth and fertility under the supervision of specialized committees in the social sector, in preparation for raising them to a council Ministers.
Her Excellency also thanked the Council of Health and Environmental Affairs of the Council for preparing a comprehensive and adequate report on the topic of “strengthening reproductive rates in the state”, reflecting the depth of national interest, and contributes to enriching the dialogue on this pivotal challenge, stressing that the file of family growth and fertility represents a very important national priority for the leadership, because of its impact on the path of human and social development of the state.
On the other hand, in the context of responding to a question directed by the Federal National Council, to the Ministry of Family, regarding “the suspension of social development centers from receiving senior citizens”, its Excellency stressed the importance of the role of the Ministry of Family as a federal agency concerned with the support of the family and the national identity, and the enabling of the first groups with care, including senior citizens, through work in the framework of two main axes: the support of the family and the national identity, and the care of children, women, and senior citizens.
Her Excellency indicated that the Happiness Center for Senior Citizens in Ajman has become the main center for providing programs and services to senior citizens at the state level, and its services are open to all senior citizens, especially in light of the ministry’s tendency to shift from relying on fixed centers to mobile preventive services that reach senior citizens in their homes, and between their children and lovers.
Her Excellency confirmed that the ministry has adopted an integrated operational plan that includes the launch of specialized programs and initiatives that will be launched soon, taking into account the geographical diversity, while ensuring the quality of all the services provided in cooperation with government partners throughout the country.
