Sharjah Social Empowerment reviews its most prominent achievements for the year 2024

Sharjah, on June 26 / WAM / The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation reviewed its most prominent achievement for the year 2024, which included providing support for 2,769 orphans and 1,186 families in the Emirate of Sharjah and its areas, in addition to empowering 170 new orphans, bringing the total number of children possible to 2,035 orphans until the end of the year.

This came during the annual meeting held by the Foundation in the presence of His Excellency Sheikha Jamila bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services.

Her Excellency Sheikha Jamila bint Muhammad Al Qasimi expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by the Foundation, stressing the importance of the continuity of sustainable humanitarian action that contributes to improving the quality of the life of orphans.

She said that what the Foundation offers embodies a deep human commitment, as the achievements are not limited to numbers, but rather express success stories that inspire to continue giving, noting that empowerment includes capacity building and enhancing self -confidence, which is what the Foundation has succeeded in achieving through its integrated programs.

For its part, Professor Mona bin Hahd Al -Suwaidi, Director General of the Foundation, valued the presence of His Excellency Sheikha Jamila Al Qasimi, stressing that the achievements achieved reflects the institution’s vision in empowering the children and their families, inspired by the directives and support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

She pointed out that the year 2024 formed a prominent station in the institution’s march, where qualitative achievements were recorded in various areas of empowerment, in addition to participating in prestigious international forums such as the Future Summit in the United Nations, the scientific conference for psychological studies, and the educational innovation conference, as well as the establishment of the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Award for the best charitable performance in the Arab world.

Al -Suwaidi emphasized that these achievements came as a fruit of effective strategic efforts and continuous support from the wise leadership and bid partners of individuals and institutions, stressing the Foundation’s commitment to continue to develop its programs and enhance its social impact, based on its belief that investing in children is an investment in the future of society.

The Foundation renewed its commitment to implementing the global quality management system, as part of its continuation of the ISO9001: 2015 ISO9001 certificate, to ensure the achievement of best practices in providing its services.

The year 2024 witnessed a comprehensive support for orphans and their families, as the expenses directed to the beneficiaries amounted to about 27 million dirhams and benefited 1,169 families and 2,744 orphans from zakat on money and the provision of Ramadan, and 248 families and 772 orphans benefited from the “Development” project, and Ramadan gifts were distributed to 9 families and 20 orphans, while 199 families and 515 benefited An orphan from the “Eid candy” project, and the Eid was distributed to 327 orphans.

In the field of guarantees, 331 orphans and 226 families were sponsored, in addition to providing urgent assistance through the “Jabr” project that exceeded two million dirhams, and the achievement of 585 educational guarantees, bringing the total number of guaranteed students to 1,913 by the end of the year, in addition to achieving 277 wishs within the “Sidra Al -Wisaynah” project, to reach the number of wishes achieved since its launch 3,666 security.

1,058 students have benefited from the payment of the tuition fees, educational devices were provided to 99 students, 8 university scholarships were provided, in addition to honoring 34 superior students, organizing 10 Umrah trips, implementing educational support lessons for 156 students, providing support to 9 students with learning difficulties, and organizing academic courses that benefited 165 students, in addition to the enrollment of 18 students with IELTS exams, And the implementation of school visits that included 735 students in 101 schools.

The Foundation also provided social services that benefited 146 orphans and 59 guardians, and 333 orphans were studied, the implementation of the “Sanad Al -Bayt” project, which included 85 young men, 84 girls and 69 guardians, in addition to collective activities that benefited 553 wills and 72 orphans, and the support groups program in which 52 wills participated and the Foundation honored 71 nations in appreciation of their role in caring for children, in conjunction International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day.

In the field of psychological care, 279 orphans and 84 guardians of psychological support sessions benefited, and 23 orphans participated in the “skipping” program aimed at supporting orphans psychologically after the loss of the breadwinner. As for the health aspect, 40 orphans and 30 wills have benefited from the payment of treatment expenses, and free examinations were provided to 240 orphans and 145 guardians, and organizing awareness -raising health workshops that benefited 84 girl.

The Foundation provided environmental support for 284 families and 719 orphans, with a value of nearly two million dirhams, and the “walls” project, which provided the necessary maintenance for six homes, was implemented, in addition to its efforts in developing professional skills for orphans, where 38 orphans were trained in four different sides, and four professional workshops benefited from 109 children and 6 guardians.

The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation continues its efforts towards a sustainable and comprehensive empowerment of orphans, ensuring improving the quality of their lives and achieving their independence, based on its mission in building a better future for its children and enhancing their role in society.
