Oman’s economy grows by 4.7% in the first quarter

Muscat on June 28 / WAM / The GDP of the Sultanate of Oman recorded a strong growth of 4.7% at the current prices at the end of the first quarter of 2025, to 10.53 billion Omani riyals, according to the initial data issued by the National Center for Statistics and Information.

This positive performance is mainly due to the noticeable growth in non -oil activities, whose added value increased by 4.1% to 7.13 billion Omani riyals.

The Omani News Agency stated that all non -oil sectors witnessed growth, the most prominent of which was the agricultural and fishing sector, which jumped by 11.1%, followed by the services sector, which grew by 4.2%, then industrial activities with a growth of 2.8%.

Oil activities also contributed to supporting this growth, as the added value increased by 6.8 %, recording 3 billion and 706 million and 600 thousand Omani riyals, and this comes despite the decrease in crude oil activity by 7.5 % to reach two billion and 735 million and 900 thousand Omani riyals, but natural gas activity recorded remarkable growth by 89 %, to reach the added value 970 million and 800 thousand Omani riyals.
