Arab Basketball Federation .. An inspiring sports model led by Emirati leadership

Dubai, June 29 / WAM / headed by an Emirati presidency of a fourth term, the Arab Basketball Federation established its position as a leading model for joint Arab sports work, after he witnessed in recent years a qualitative shift that strengthened from his regional and international presence, and turned it into an active continental umbrella that combines sports competition and institutional development.

Since his presidency to the UAE in 2015, led by Major General (M) Ismail Al -Qarqawi, who was recently re -elected to confirm the confidence of Arab federations in his approach, a fundamental transformation march was launched based on building a modern institutional system, strengthening partnerships with continental and international federations, and unifying technical standards, in a way that serves the aspirations of Arab countries in the advancement of basketball and investigation Achievements.

Major General Ismail Al -Qarqawi led a comprehensive development process for the administrative and technical structures, which included updating the regulations, adopting the electronic registration system and classifying tournaments, as well as launching strategic initiatives, most notably the Fund for Developing Federations, which provided new opportunities to organize tournaments and participate in external competitions, which reflected positively on raising the level of Arab teams and supporting their external presence.

The features of the development in the focus on the rehabilitation of human cadres from coaches, rulers and administrators were evident through workshops and specialized courses under the supervision of international experts, and the launch of programs in management and sports marketing, as well as strengthening technical exchange through cooperation and expansion agreements in the International Federation committees, and the Federation has proven its institutional flexibility by organizing the first virtual Arab championship during the “Coffee-19”.

The last session of the Federation’s Board of Directors witnessed a qualitative leap represented in the organization of seventeen Arab championships for various categories of men, women, young people and 3 x 3 championships, as well as the return of Arab teams such as Somalia and Mauritania to participate, with the approval of the electronic lottery system to facilitate organizational preparations, and the federation is currently preparing to launch a unified electronic platform to manage tournaments and document data, while expanding the establishment of specialized academies, Working on a strategic plan until 2030 focuses on expanding the base of participation and adopting modern technology.

Ismail Al -Qarqawi, President of the Arab Basketball Federation, stressed that the Federation today represents an inspiring and mature model for Arab integration, noting that the qualitative shift that has been achieved during the past years came as a fruit of teamwork and close cooperation between member states; He said: The UAE has presented a leading model in supporting joint Arab action, and we will continue to build and develop according to clear visions that focus on enabling teams and cadres and enhancing Arab attendance continental and international.

He explained that integrated institutional work contributes to meeting the aspirations of the Arab basketball family, by organizing training courses for all groups, whether from coaches, referees, administrators and medical specialists, to ensure the continuity of development in various elements of the game.

Amr Moselhi, Vice President of the Arab Federation, President of the Egyptian Basketball Federation, pointed out that administrative stability, clarity of technical vision and continuous protest reduced technical differences and strengthened revenues, while Saudi Abdel Rahman Al -Masaad, Vice President of the Arab Federation, stressed that the start of the tournaments from the Emirates strengthened the confidence of the civil unions in the system, promising a bright future for Arab basketball.

The Federation proceeds to perform its mission towards building an integrated Arab system that embodies the aspirations of sports generations and establishes the values ​​of institutional work, in line with the UAE’s vision in supporting joint Arab work and enhancing the region’s leadership on the global sports arena.
