"Sharjah Electricity" Its projects are intensified to enhance water security in Kalba

Sharjah, on June 29 / WAM / Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority intensified the implementation of a number of vital and strategic projects aimed at strengthening the water infrastructure and meeting the development needs of the city of Kalba, where the completion rate in the project of extending a major water line from Kalba to Wadi Al -Helou was 98% with a total value of 47 million dirhams, as part of a package of projects that were worked on during the period from January to April 2025.

Engineer Youssef Al Hammadi, Director of Kalba Administration at the Authority, explained that this period witnessed an acceleration in the pace of work, as the completion rate in the project of extending the lines for Jabal Dim reached 59%, and it reached 50% in the project to extend the Transku line to the desalination plant, and major lines were extended to the various regions Water for 119 new properties between residential, government, industrial and commercial, changing old lines with new ones with a length of 168 meters, examining 133 smart meters, replacing 66 counterparts, and issuing two declarations to dig wells.

These efforts come as a continuation of previous projects that included the extension of a line from the industrial zone to the Al -Ghail station worth 5 million dirhams, the change of a major line in the Tarif 4 area of ​​1.6 million dirhams, and the extension of the water line for the new industrial zone (the first stage) with a value of 4 million dirhams, in addition to linking the authority’s network to the Al -Ittihad water and electricity company in the Tarif area for use in emergency situations.

The future plan for the development of water projects in the city of Kalba includes building a strategic reservoir with a capacity of 20 million gallons, replacing the old lines in the Al -Khuwair region (the second stage), and extending water lines to the major development projects announced by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, such as Lake Al -Hayyar and the main station of Jabal Deem, in addition to extending a new major line from industrial to Al -Gail and the second stage of the new industrial area line.

The year 2024 also witnessed the completion of a number of important projects in the field of water distribution, which included the extension of major lines with a length of 6,897 meters, the adoption of 263 planners, the issuance of 352 land degrees, the delivery of water for 718 properties, the change of 755 meters from the old lines, the examination of 351 smart meters and the replacement of 62 meters, and the issuance of permits for four new wells.
