The Standing Committee for the Gulf theater teams honors Abdullah Al -Owais and Ahmed Bouraima

Sharjah on July 2 / WAM / The Standing Committee for the National Theatrical Teams in the Cooperation Council countries for the Arab States of the Gulf honored today, His Excellency Abdullah Al -Owais, Head of the Culture Department in Sharjah, and Mr. Ahmed Bouhahima, Director of theater Department in the department, in appreciation of their prominent efforts in supporting and developing the Gulf theater movement, and their concrete contributions to enriching the cultural scene in the GCC countries.

The committee praised during the honoring ceremony, which was held at the Culture Palace in Sharjah, the pioneering role of the Department of Culture in supporting and sustaining cultural and theatrical activities at the level of the Arab world, especially in the countries of the Cooperation Council, through qualitative initiatives and strategic projects that contributed to the consolidation of Sharjah as an Arab and regional cultural center.

The committee valued the Sharjah qualitative initiatives in the field of theater, foremost of which is the “Sharjah Festival for the Gulf Theater”, which is organized every two years, and the theatrical authorship competition directed to Gulf writers, as well as training programs, workshops and cultural events that promote artistic and cognitive exchange between Gulf theater teams.

This honor came within the activities of the “Emirati Day for theater” celebration, which was organized by the theatrical Association in the UAE, and witnessed the honor of 12 artists and administrative theatrical from the state, in appreciation of their giving and their efforts in serving the theater.

The delegation of the Standing Committee for the National Theatrical Teams, which participated in the celebration, included the chairman of the committee, Khaled Al -Ruwaie, the members Walid Al -Zaabi, Abdullah Rashid and Jassim Al -Aali.

It is noteworthy that the Standing Committee for the National Theatrical Teams, which was established more than four decades ago, has played an important role in organizing and developing the theatrical movement in the countries of the Council, and since its establishment has launched many initiatives and projects that contributed to enhancing cooperation and exchanging experiences between the Gulf theatrical teams.
