An event in Al Ain discusses strengthening national identity and the values of family belonging


Al Ain, March 15 / WAM / The Ramadan Council at the Police Officers Club in Al Ain discussed the topic “Society and National Identity” in conjunction with the Year of the Family, to enhance family bonding and community cohesion.
The council, which was held at the invitation of the “Al-Watan Volunteer” team, was attended by His Excellency Dr. Salem Mohammed bin Rakad, President of the Emirates Cancer Society, His Excellency Hashima Yasser Al-Afari, Member of the Federal National Council and Head of the Committee for Social Affairs, Women and Children in the Arab Parliamentary Union, and a number of officials and representatives of government and private agencies.
The speakers discussed the importance of preserving national identity within the family, and instilling the values of belonging and loyalty in children, stressing the role of the Arabic language as a basic pillar of national identity, and that preserving it is a shared responsibility between the family and educational and community institutions.
Engineer Jaber Butti Al-Ahbabi, head of the “Al-Watan Volunteer” team, pointed out that community cohesion begins with the family, and that national identity is a shared trust.
The sponsors and entities supporting the “Your Breakfast on Us” Ramadan initiative were honored, which distributes 1,200 meals a day to needy families, cancer patients, and workers, with the participation of more than 500 male and female volunteers, reinforcing the values of solidarity and humanitarian giving in the UAE.
