The second heritage conference continues its sessions in Sharjah on Arab folklore

Sharjah, on July 3 / WAM / The second heritage conference organized by the Sharjah Heritage Institute at its headquarters under the slogan “Folklore in the Children of the Other” continues its work for the second day in a row, where he witnessed a scientific session entitled “Economic Conditions through Western Trips Literature” by Dr. Abdul Aziz Al -Muslim, head of the institute, Dr. Hamdan Al -Darai and Dr. Laila Meziane from Morocco alongside Dr. Ghanem Al -Hamidi from Qatar.
The speakers confirmed during the session that the bloggers of Western travelers are an important reference in studying the history of Gulf societies, with the accurate description of economic and social conditions, despite their colonial and cultural biases.
They pointed out that the critical reading of these writings helps to dismantle the stereotypes that prevailed around the region and contribute to restoring a more balanced novel about the local past.
The organization of this session comes within a series of scientific and cultural events witnessed by the “Second Heritage Conference” with the participation of a group of researchers and experts from different countries with the aim of discussing the image of the Arab folklore in the eyes of the other and highlighting the western representations of this heritage in the nomadic and Orientalist blogs.
The conference was launched by a set of new publications that are a qualitative addition to the heritage and cognitive library and aims to shed light on the image of the Arab heritage in the eyes of travelers and orientalists and open new horizons for researchers in the field of nomadic literature and comparative heritage studies.
Among the publications launched by the conference: “Kurdji’s journey to the Gulf” and “Cities of Heritage in the Arab World”, which are written by Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muslim, as well as other publications such as “The UAE Heritage in Triple Literature” by Dr. Mona Bounaam Dr. Osama Lakkani.
