"Hili America’s Latin dialogue " In Brazil, it reviews a variety of strategic axes

Rio de Janeiro, July 9 / WAM / The Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research organized in cooperation with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy yesterday in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, the first edition of the regional “Haley dialogues”, which is the international platform of the annual Heili Forum held in Abu Dhabi.

The dialogue that was held under the slogan “Emirati -American relations: promising paths”, and in a media partnership with the Emirates News Agency “WAM”, “the participation of about 200 participants from 10 Latin American countries, including Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Bolivia, El Salvador, Colombia, Argentina and Peru, in addition to more than 25 speakers of thought leaders, policymakers, academics, diplomats and experts in various Economic and environmental fields from Latin America and the UAE, who have eaten a full day of a series of in -depth dialogues, cognitive and scientific exchange.

His Excellency Dr. Sultan Muhammad Al -Nuaimi, Director General of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research, said in a speech that this dialogue is a reflection of a broader strategic vision that is closely in line with the foreign policy of the UAE, which calls for promoting dialogue, supporting pluralism and establishing partnerships linking regions, cultures and ideas.

He stressed that Latin America occupies a special place in this vision. This region is not only home to some of the world’s largest reserves of basic minerals, fresh water and agricultural capabilities, but also a continent for innovation and flexibility, and has a growing voice in global affairs.

For his part, His Excellency Nikolai Mladenov, Director General of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, said that the Hili -Latin America dialogue is inspired by the old Heili settlement in Al Ain, which has formed for thousands of years formed a meeting point for trade, culture and ideas, stressing that the UAE and Latin America constitute natural partners, they share integrated economic interests, and common aspirations to achieve flexibility, Sustainability and comprehensive development that must be green, digital and fair.

Professor Marlos Lima, Director of International Affairs at the Getolio Foundation, said that holding the Hili -Latin America dialogue confirms the increase in rapprochement between the UAE and Latin American countries as it also stresses the importance of research and education, and the exchange of opinions in policies as a basic pillar of international cooperation.

He explained that the UAE is the main destination for Brazilian exports to the Arab world, and it is classified among the three largest countries with sovereign wealth globally, and in parallel, the UAE has gained extensive experience in the areas of clean energy, artificial intelligence and advanced logistical services, which are in line with the Brazilian trends.

For his part, His Excellency Saleh Ahmed Salem Al -Suwaidi, the country’s ambassador to the Federal Republic of Brazil, affirmed in a speech to him that the past decade witnessed the construction of a rooted relationship in trust, cooperation and strategic compatibility between the Emirates and Brazil, and we witnessed an expansion of investments in agricultural work, energy, logistical services, innovation, and infrastructure, in addition to enhancing cultural, academic and diplomatic exchanges.

He also stressed that the UAE geographical location, its global infrastructure, its advanced logistical networks, and its global investment extension make it a natural bridge that links Latin America to Africa, Asia and the Arab world, noting that this dialogue represents a platform for listening, learning and exploring new horizons in the areas of climate cooperation, food security, digital transformation, education and a circular economy.

The dialogue witnessed in -depth discussions that dealt with various strategic axes, most notably economic integration and commercial partnerships by exploring the areas of logistical services, food security, and renewable energy; The green shift and sustainable investment, as well as highlighting the partnership between the public and private sectors in addition to the flexible interdependence, as the UAE is a global logistical center and Latin America, a region rich in resource and emerging industrial strongest.

The sessions witnessed extensive discussions on green growth and transformation in the energy sector, where Brazil was established at the COP30 conference and the UAE head of the COP28 conference is a strong axis of climate diplomacy through which the Gulf and Latin America can become climate, sustainable mining leaders, and green supply chains.

The discussions dealt with technological sovereignty and innovation in the era of digital transformation so that technological empowerment could be the third pillar of the Emirates and Latin American partnership.
