“Justice” constitutes the Committee for Licensing of Mediation Services Centers

The Minister of Justice, Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al -Nuaimi, issued a decision regarding the formation and system of action of the Commission for Licensing of Special Centers for Mediation and Foreign Centers for Mediation, in the context of supporting the application of the provisions of Federal Law No. (4) of 2023 regarding mediation in civil and commercial disputes, and enhancing the governance of this vital sector.
The Minister of Justice said that the formation of the committee comes as a continuation of the national efforts in developing the organizational structure of the mediation system in the state, and to enhance the proper application of the mediation law.
He added that “this step represents a qualitative shift in consolidating alternative justice and providing flexible and rapid solutions to settle disputes, as it contributes to creating an attractive and safe legal environment for investment, and enhances the competitiveness of the national economy and the confidence of customers in the modern judicial system“.
The decision stipulated the formation of a permanent committee in the Ministry of Justice called the “Committee for the License of Special Centers for mediation and branches of foreign mediation centers”, headed by the head of the Judicial Inspection Department, and the membership of each of the first judicial inspector in the Judicial Inspection Department as a vice president who is nominated by the Federal Judicial Council, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Judicial Services Sector, the President of the Ajman Federal Court Federal Elementary, Director of Lawyers Affairs and Legal Advisors, Director of Experts and Translators Affairs, and Head of Alternative Systems Department at the Judicial Inspection Department.
The committee shall, according to Article Three of the Resolution, decide on requests for licensing private centers for mediation and branches of foreign centers, and to decide on requests to provide mediation services outside the approved geographical range, as well as receiving complaints and grievances related to their decisions and deciding them
The decision also specified a period of thirty days to submit grievances from the committee’s decisions, starting from the date of notifying the concerned person of the decision or from the date of his knowledge of him with certainty, provided that the grievances are attached to the documents he supports.
The grievance takes place within fifteen days from the date of its presentation, and the non -response during this period is a refusal of the grievance.
